So fortunately the t bolt on the + battery connector was knacked. Put anew one on and tight as you like so all good.
Going to look at gearbox oil now.
Jacking points, seen the hole the rubber jack will go in but thats where the axle stand will go , I think I have seen a pic where I can jack up somewhere else, further in from that jack point...
Proper look tomorrow.

You can jack up on the sill jacking points then put stands under the rear end of the front lower suspension arm lollipop bushes.

Leave the gearchange alone for a few weeks and drive the car as much as possible - your wrist will become stronger, and soon you will not notice the additional effort required.

Yes - if you believe the BMW propaganda that it is 'Sealed for life' then you must also believe in the tooth fairy and Santa Claus! An oil change will certainly help, particularly in cold weather, but a stronger wrist is the real alswer.

Your absolutely right, now the gear goes in smoothly, having had the oil change, I can speed the change up as I don't have to force the gear.
