Ah !!!
The spindles have probably seized, and the ends have been twisted off. One of them is laying at the bottom of the light unit in the centre of the picture

what a bugger, I dumped two damaged headlight units last week that I might have been able to salvage the bits you need….
Andy (@spurs fan in a coupe ) may have some ???

Found a new pair on eBay from 2excite Ltd for £275 saying they’re RHD and will pass MOT?

Sounds like a fair price. It’s not impossible that your own lights could be made to work again but if you can’t do it yourself then it probably won’t be cost effective.

Only have chrome backed ones, my current ones are black. Not sure they’d look right

I fitted a set of all chrome ones in my Oxford Green Z3. I did like them. Came from California at around £225 10 years or so ago.

Apparently they’re are Angel Eyes and garage say it will require more wiring! What are they and is it worth it? I’ve tried googling but still not sure what they are.

These were plug and play mate, no extra wiring at all. Have you got a link to them.

You don't need to wire up the Angel Eyes anyway if you don't need to. As long as there's a "sidelight" (position light) either in the headlight , or, in the front bumper? then that's all you need for the MOT.

Good to hear Dunc, what did you end up doing, replace the lamps or make the adjusters work?

I'd say they can be repaired with a bit of ingenuity.
I’d have a go with the lights on your car as they are Dunc. Worth a try before splashing what could be unnecessary cash.
