Hid bulb ?

I find that main beam lights are always adequate, its the dip beam where you need better light especially to combat these ultra bright modern lights as you meet vehicles. You will find that 80W and 100W bulbs will be marked as not for road use.

@Dino D the above is what the shop told me, you can get 80s that go straight into dipped beam as they intended for off road use

I would avoid the 50w hid, these run very hot and will melt your lights.

The mot guidebook states

"Vehicles with high intensity discharge (HID) or LED dipped beam headlamps may be fitted with a suspension or headlamp self-levelling system. If these systems have been fitted, they must work.

Sometimes it is not easy to determine if the self-levelling systems work. In such cases you should give the benefit of the doubt." So no need for self leveling, the manual system must work though.
Washers are only applicable for cars after Sept 2009.
