We were happy with Horwood House and had no issues. I would echo Ragtop's comments above for any future such events.

As much as I would like to have gone to ZedFest, my current lack of Zed made attendance with Zorg impossible (a Crossfire amongst the massed ranks of BM's would have stood out somewhat).

However, there are two budget hotels near where I live on the outskirts of Northampton that could prove suitable. There is a Holiday Inn Express and a Campanile just off Junction 15 of the M1, both of which were built relatively recently. The Campanile has its own restaurant and there is a Harvester pub nearby.

They would provide an easy place to find and meet and only a few miles from Silverstone using the M1 to Junction 15a and then the A43 through Towcester. The setting clearly wouldn't be a scenic, or exclusive, but probably more reasonably priced. If you check out Tripadvisor, the Holiday Inn is rated as second and the Campanile ninth out of 33 hotels in the Northampton area.

Just a thought and I don't work there so have nothing to gain, except the opportunity to walk down and have a beer or two and put names to faces.
