If BMW make cheap alloy wheels, why aren't BMW wheels cheap

Hi Mike @EnthuZiaZT , got the tyre stripped off today. Should go for repair tomorrow all being well, been short staffed today.

That crack has travelled certainly to the middle of the tyre bead well and probably onto the other side of the yellow stuff as well.

When they repair the crack do they use dye penetrant on it first?

This was the welded repair Jim @oldcarman The first one as the wheel was mounted on the fitting machine before he fitted the tyre

And these when the tyre was back on.

Just needs finishing and painting. A good cost effective repair.

Nice, looks like they did a real wide V before welding and went deep into the meat of the wheel. Should outlast the rest of the wheel!! lol. A bit of a polish and a lick of paint Mike won't know where the repair is hopefully, JIM

We do many such repairs at work Jim and to the best of my knowledge no issues with anything we've had repaired.

I have no doubt @t-tony, that's one of the nicer repairs I've seen over the years and being on the inner wheel shouldn't be noticeable. @EnthuZiaZT should be well happy with the job!! JIM

Just got home from @t-tony after picking up the wheel. Cracking Job Tony and thanks for all your help, we shall be forever in your debt.
Can't wait to get it rubbed down and painted and back on the Zed.
