I thought one of these was trying to kill me !!!

Left overnight with a sea fishing weight on them…. no oil showing so must be a piston seal I assume ???
but Halfords don’t do a spares kit
and it’s the low profile one which is really useful

Might be worth taking the piston out and measuring it up. There’s quite a few options out there. Found this entertaining video as well

If there's no oil showing it's more likely to be leaking past the the valve. Best strip it, may just be an O ring. If it's strippable, of course, these modern things........

To be honest I wouldn't bother trying to repair a jack like that. It is a cheap one (no offence) and can be replaced for about £70.
If you can repair it, it will cost a few quid, be a PITA and you will always have that question mark over it collapsing again, possibly on your head!

You are probably right, but having never taken one apart, and especially now the 2.8 is done, got to find something to do with my day .
and…..It cant be any worse than rebuilding brake calipers …. And done two full sets of those … and still here

The best way to regard trolley jacks, imo.

I agree…. I , ( and would hope everybody), would never be under a car solely supported by a trolley jack.
