I read your comparison and had to chuckle as some of the points of distinction you mentioned were what my granddaughter, who was 8 when we began our quest for a Z3 rather than a Z4, put forth but in 8 year olds terms. Also the Z4 didn't fit the requirement of being 15 yrs old minimum for import but she much preferred the Z3. As the saying goes " out of the mouthes of babes, truths shall come" seems to be true. Hi Pog, we do like our cars Black, my last three have now been Black, the one before the Z3 being a Land Rover Discovery. I went from a seven seater to a two seater now the kids drive themselves about and there are three other Black cars in the family. At one time we had five black cars on the drive every night, can't imagine what the neighbours must think! Are your Bikes BMW's as well?

Hi Oldcarman thanks for the thoughts. Not sure whether to pleased I'm not alone in my opinions or disappointed that my opinions are the same as that of an eight year old. What does that say about me.lol . I'd like to think that she is just very perceptive and actually quite the genius for her age!!!

You have it correct, she's a smart little girl that can see classic lines when she sees them, as can you. Please no offence meant, if it wasn't for her asking me to buy either a Z3 or a Ford F150 pickup we wouldn't be sharing this conversation. Enjoy the car and this forum with all it's knowledge and camaraderie! JIM

Nice one Shelly, couldn't believe it when one BMW specialist dealer told me it was one of the hardest combinations (Black with Beige) to sell! According to him most people looking for Black Z4's want the Red interior.

We knew what colour Z and interior we wanted but couldn't find one anywhere :)
We went miles out of our way to get black with cream interior :)
I think it looks lovely and smart ;)
It was for us one of the hardest colours combination to find :)
Enjoy your Z :)

I had a Discovery (same reason, 7 seats) before the Z3... The bikes are made for me by Terry Dolan in Liverpool... They are bicycles not motorcycle... 2 x Road and 1 x Track (for velodromes)

Oh sorry POG, I don't really do Bicycles although I've got nothing against them.

Welcome Mario!:)
Your Zed3 had a plate with 4 and your Zed4 has a plate with 3 (5 it's out of the range, here, on this forum!); it's there a prediction? :wideyed:

No Prediction Zeti, although well spotted. The Z3's number plate is being transfered to the Z4, it should loof more at home there.

Hi Mario
Welcome to the Madhouse from a neighbour just down the road at Sutton:welcome:Glad you found us:cool: Friendly bunch of zed owners on a great forum with a lot of technical know how:).

Keep your eyes skinned for the EAC (East Anglian Crew) cruises, we usually manage to meet up once a month:coolsteer)perhaps we can meet up for a coffee & chat one day.

Great looking Z4, good choice colour combo too, Sounds like you are having a great experience driving it with the auto gearbox, did it take long to get used to using the paddles?

We have a Z4 in Montreal Blue 2lt 4 pot & a Z3 in Mora Red (Individual) 2Lt 6 pot

Hi Neighbour, I've often seen a Black Z3 parked in Sutton (close to S&G's) but I had no idea there were others. I look forward to meeting up, East Anglia seems well represented on this site. Glad you like the colour combo it took a little while to find but my Z4 doesn't have the paddles, just the normal stick with options to drive as an auto or when pushed over to the left as a manual. At the moment I still have the Z3 at home and the Z4 and hope to try and buy back the Z3 even though it's been written off.. are the two cars a his and hers or do you switch sometimes?

Hi Mario

We have seen the Z3 parked in the garden just past S & Gs and keep meaning to pop a Zorg calling card through the letterbox!:)

We both drive both Zs and usually decide which Z to take to the cruises. 'Mora', our Z3 is taken to the classic type meets like Duxford and 'Monty' our Z4 is driven on the further cruises such as to the Lake District, although Mora went with some more EAC members on tour to The Somme, Easter 2012:cool:.

Have you seen the Duxford meet in May, it is on Page 3, but if you go onto the Forum area it is in events! It would be good to see you there, we know the others would be pleased to see you!

Yes, I saw the thread regarding Duxford, I've mentioned it to my wife and at first she was a little unenthusiastic. She's not particularly a car fan and has been to Duxford several times with the school she works at, but she did mention it again a couple of days later so I think she's coming round and I would probably go on my own if I had to anyway. We also spoke about the Brighton run which is later in the year. Would be great to meet up and see the cars.

There's a rumor about a special edition "Duxford Handbag" that will be offered at the show. (I think this rumor started in our Zroadster.org forum.)
