Did you notice that bear at 3.5mins into the rally relaxing there without his proper gear on, almost sunbathing he was! But this was 2011
so its before he became a zed enthusiast.:coolsteer)

Duncan are our cars too young for this rally? wasn't anything there after the 70s in the vid....

No I spoke to the organisers identifying that we may be bringing Z1, Z3, Z4's and maybe even an odd Z8 and they said that as well as Historic and Classic the sports and kit cars which are much more modern even recently completed in the case of kit cars are included they have a different route for the more modern as some of the historics don't have the reliability. So I would even include the i8 as I would class that as a sports car

Dunan now who do we know with an i8 that would enjoy this event.
Aaah I think you may have a plan !!
It would be so wicked to be "up close and personal" with a BMW i8 joining this event.

Should anyone be a proud owner of an i8, I can assure you I'm a very good driver =))

But I must not neglect Filbert :D

Just reading the post and regarding hotel.. I am wondering if we can get the 35% discount on the Holiday Inn Express ? It applies to BMW Car Club UK membership but maybe we can swing it a little if there are enough wanting rooms ?

thing is that I am finding that the BMW car club hotel prices have risen quite a lot over the last few years and I usually get better deals by dealing direct. Having said that the hotel at Northampton that was so good two years ago ended up out of price range this year for both silverstone and Santa pod.

Would be good to get a group discount at some nice hotel in S E London with parking. Nice drive up on the Sunday morning for the run to Brighton. How many would be looking at a hotel the night before ?

OK boys and girls. Duncan AKA @La_vida_diver is back to focus on the Zroadster.org world from late October. I do not plan to do Silverstone Classic in 2015. I think we have done it to death.

Right onto topic if I am not doing Silverstone what do I fancy doing well how about the London to Brighton. Here is a flyer I have got sent to me as a result of speaking to the management firm that run it. I have started sounding them out about a special Zroadster.org section (that means anyone with a Z wherever they come from). I have also started to sound out about hotels at the lower price bracket (I can't afford a dear one and I might even investigate camping as well).

This post is to set up the scale of how much effort I will put in to the organisation and also to sound out the interest. I think it would make a great highlight to 2015 and be something we have not done before.

I will next be talking to the organisers mid to late October (now mid November) so it would be great to go back with some feedback.

Next year’s entry fee is just £95 per vehicle and covers driver and navigator and includes:
·Entry and parking fees in Greenwich Park
·Route book and list of entrants
·Personalised certificate of participation for the driver
·House tour at Saint Hill Manor
·Individually numbered London to Brighton Run commemorative rally plaque
·Commemorative brass finishers medal
·VIP Parking on Madeira Drive in Brighton reserved exclusively for participants use.
·Plus the experience of taking part in one of the most impressive displays of vintage, classic, kit and sports cars in the country.

Discuss please!!! I also plan to forward a link to this thread to the organisers so that they can both view and with luck join in the discussion

Hi All

Gemini Events here, the organisers of London to Brighton! Had a great chat with Duncan earlier today and he asked me to introduce myself on here to help answer any questions. The main question I've seen is regarding insurance, the London to Brighton Run is not a rally or race but a scenic tour, all cars have to be insured as you will be using public roads.

We hope to have the forms and packages available in the next few weeks, these will include options for hotel stays too.

Look forward to hearing from you all on this great event!

Amelia

what a brilliant Idea and it is close enough to the entry ports that they can get to the start reasonably...... could this be the first Zroadster.org "international event" I think you have a great thought there @pgunter! @hard top what do you think and does anyone else know of any continental forums that would be up for it if you do you all have the right to mention it on any of the other forums.

Brilliant Idea!
