Hi Dino, if you use your front towing eye you can fasten your plaque to it. I have mounted the plaque on thin plywood after cutting it out with a jigsaw then screwing a block of 2.5x2.5inch to it before mounting the plaque with double sided tape, long bolt through block with large washer and nut on underside allowing me to mount the plaque on said towing eye, it does stick out from the front of the car by about 4-5inch which could be a problem with youngsters walking around the car so am going to take it off on arrival put it in tax disc position. See if these pics help.Rha,. Roy.

^ nice work, they actually sell numberplate holders that mount in that position too.

@Rha, I would remove the towing eye cover if you are going to run with the Plaque on, easy to do as they have a tendency to fall off when just hanging there :bashhead:

I doubt it, those type of things don't like movement or vibrations.

I've been googling alternatives and this came up: http://www.v8register.net/subpages/rallyplatefixings.htm

I know its too late to purchase things, but would standard bathroom suckers be strong enough to hold to the front bumper for a journey in anyone's opinion?
Hi Z3Parker, if you've ever watched big sheets of glass being fitted to shop windows you'll know that the suction grips they use to manoeuvre the glass in place are the dogs do dars, so if you can find smaller ones that work on a lever system you could probably hold down the bonnet at speed with them, would I use them???? Now you have mentioned it I would have looked for some cos they'll be handy to hold just about anything thats come loose specially in a road side repair situation, wouldn't use them for towing though, might be a bridge too far. ;)=))
Failing that a good double sided tape(3M) should hold it and would come off after use with the right type of remover. Take a good quality photo of your running plaque before you do anything else, so you can get/make repro at later date if lost or damaged. Good luck.See you Sunday. Rha. Roy.

Velcro tape with sticky backs have been holding my front numberplate for months now with no issue so I'm going to give that a go.
I usually get it off eBay but Halfords also sell some. Their numberplate double sided tape is also very good, just make sure you clean both surfaces with alcohol first.

Just a note when peeling the tape off your paint work to use some heat to soften it so it doesn't pull the lacquer.

It rained hard here in Kent afternoon but seems to have cleared, here's hoping Sunday is dry!

Me and our son looking very forward to it and meeting everyone.

I know you've been looking forward to this mate for ages. Have a cracking weekend and let's hope you can get the roof down a bit.

I wish all participants a safe drive down to, during, and home again! I'll be spiritually riding along with you all as I think this would be an ultimate event to attend and participate in. Please, lots of pics and smiley faces even though the weather sounds crappy!! JIM

Looks real nice Dino D, I'll have a better look tomorrow and with a bit of luck we'll be able to do a bit of top down. Fingers crossed. Like you I've spent all day on the Z and will be hoping for a break weather wise, like the way you've mounted the running plaque. Rha, Roy.

My 6yr old is going to love the rear wing on yours, will be asking me to get one next..!

Really hope a miracle happens and no rain, will be a shame to have clean car for just one afternoon, it's a real treat for it to get all this polishing and cleaning!
