I could be wrong, but I think that the original bare bones Murphy's Law is:
If it's possible something can go wrong, it will.

And then there's:
If it's possible something can go wrong, it will and at the worst possible time.

But the one I like is::
It it's possible something can go wrong, it will, and there's always someone who knew it would. Frankie

...could be an extension "in my mind" of Murphy's attitude...but I wanted to be optimistic!
