Cheers happy feetWell for someone that claims not to be good with spanners your doing a fair job oh short one! Well done mate. I've been having a go with my new aquired work bus and to be fair I'm quite enjoying myself. That doesn't mean your off the hook @t-tony!!!
Thanks DaveGood work Steve, if a bit awkward on the drive and a good write up.
Niall's a real star for doing my Diff and Gear box oils. Thanks mate
You did the right thing having @NODZED change yours on that fab ramp thing he uses, there's not much room to work underneath the car on axle stands .
Steve
.......and the van on MondayWhat a wimp! All you need is to do Sara's car today, daughters car tomorrow etc. and you'll soon be used to it mate.
Tony.
Now you're getting it, then come and be my apprentice for a few days. Milk and 3 sweeteners in mine . . . ........and the van on Monday
Steve
Hope it goes well for you happy feet,I forgot how c##p it is working underneath a carWell it's my turn today. Changed the rubber maf thingy that had split the other week and now I'm grovelling underneath changing the difference mount bush that @Antm72 happily pointed out was knackered when he popped in last time! Neck already aching and I've not done it yet!
You need to stop other people looking at your car mate - every time you come away with a list of stuff to doWell it's my turn today. Well it hasn't. . The maf thing is fine but couldn't clear the diff anywhere near enough to remove the old bush. Tried what @Antm72 advised with the jack but still way off. Put car back together for now as I need it tomorrow. Will have to sort it when we get back from Holland now as I don't have any time left beforehand.Hope it goes well for you happy feet,I forgot how c##p it is working underneath a car

There's not much rigle room under there Dave,if you got it over a pit or on a lift you'd have a fighting chance. At least you had a go mate .Well it hasn't. . Top skills mateGot an early finish at work today as the joiner and plasterer were where I needed to be .
So with my new Powerflex diff mount bush gathering dust in the shed thought I'd have a go at fitting it .
Got the rear of the car jacked up on the diff, axel stands under the sills but left the jack taking the weight of the diff to aid removal of the mounting
bolt......it's a bit tight under there with the original back box being huge.
But by jacking up the near side rear wheel the diff drops down a bit more and gives enough room to work .

The old bush took some getting out with some of it staying stuck to the metal ring, which was the next thing to remove after cutting a groove through it with a hack saw blade .......not easy when you're lying on your back under the car .

The old one looked ok to me tbh till I wrecked it whilst removing
so old one out,new one in.....took about 3 hours on my own so not as bad as I thought it might be .

I must say that if it wasn't for seeing how others on here had done it and being there when @t-tony fitted @Grumpy's with @Antm72 at Zed Shed Midlands I most likely wouldn't have attempted it.......so thanks chaps .
Steve
Well done shorty! It is awkward. Would be an ideal job on a ramp. Bet you feel chuffed with yourself mate.Got an early finish at work today as the joiner and plasterer were where I needed to be .
