I've been a lurker for a few weeks now, and have finally bought one :)

First suggested to me by the Wife as a replacement for my sadly missed '75 MG Midget (sold 2 years ago in some sort of rationalisation fit, despite spending 4 year getting it how I wanted it, I then sold it due to not using it 'enough').

So, I took the plunge on a 2.8 Auto at the weekend and here it is - needs bonnet paint work (lacquer peel and stone chips, plus correcting some of the previous attempts to resolve the chips with what appears to be a different colour...). I never thought i would be driving an auto after spending many years berating them, however this is lovely to drive. Average mileage, but still smooth even at 20+ years old.

Hopefully I will be around for a while...

I can't argue with that

If anyone has any pointers on how to sort the bonnet (short of a respray) please do share; otherwise I had best get saving....

Well you see...when i picked up the car it was rather filthy; white cat fur all over the roof, paw prints up the dusty bodywork, and a smell of dog inside :depressed:
So, first drive to work, then at lunch time get a lint roller over the roof to remove the fur, then take it to the local Eastern European car wash opposite Asda (tend to go there as they are cheaper than the one at the other end of the A610) then straight to Asda for some disinfectant car wipes to give the steering wheel the once over; glad i did - the cloths were both black once I'd given the whee la good wipe over.

Think I'll need to shampoo the interior if it doesn't improve, however I've left an air freshener in there for now....

So, clean car, sunny day - first proper photos!

Montreal blue eh? Good to know, since I'll be needing a fair amount of the stuff to get it fixed up...

If i can get mine looking even half as nice as your first @Nodzed I'll be very happy indeed :)

Also @Grumps I'll keep an eye out for you, looks very nice - your (relatively) nearby when I'm at work

Its the one I should never have sold, pre face lift 2.8 is a great car IMHO
