I then needed to go to the paint shop and refit the doors, boot lid and all of the lights.
All of the rubbers, quarter light glass, door cards and anything else I took off was fitted.
The car was starting to look amazing!
It is not finished at the paint shop.
They still have to "Mop" the paint work and Polish it now panels back on.
I have not see the paint in daylight yet but inside it looks awesome!

That looks amazing and the wheels are perfect. I love bright and shiny wheels.

Now waiting for car to be finished.
I am hoping it will be ready for a Christmas present to myself?
Anyway, when I get it back, a bit more work tidying it up.
Plan to put aluminium mesh behind oval holes near to front lights.
I will post some more photos of the car in daylight and hopefully with a better background.

Looking very good @Sharkiesdad . I do like the dummy lifters as they add something more. Full on bumpers and overriders seem a little too much on the Kobra.

Glad that you went for the dearer boot hinges. I was told by Richard to get them so went that way first time. I fitted the cheaper ones to his silver ‘budget’ demonstrator and did worry about only having one bolt to fix them.

The wheels do look good. I like shiney too :)

The Lucas lights looking the part on the front/ rear also. My deviation from the norm was to fit led reflectors. They light up and don’t need the extra fog light as bright enough. The MOT tester didn’t comment so all good. They don’t have chrome trim though :(

I had my front plate in the mouth too ! Eventually I fitted it across the lower intake (where your cooler is) as that felt like it was put there for it :)

You use Facebook? If so there is a tribute owners club group that would very much like to see your car. We are trying to see if we can drum up some interest in getting a few Kobras together at a show next year.

Keep the pics coming

Hi Dave. Thanks for comments.
I don't do Facebook I am sorry!
Would be great to get a few Kobra's together. I am in Leicestershire for reference. Number plate a Dilemma!
I wanted to see the oil cooler and dummy fans after spending time making them.

Don’t worry about not using Faceballs. If you like we can keep you informed in another way.

Stoneleigh is an option in May (annual kit car show) or mid June a new Kitfest at Santapod.

There are lots of Zed events organised here also. Having a Kobra tagging along to one might be worth asking. I only got mine out of paint a week or so ago so not driven it much. That said I have been driving it about in rat-rod guise during the summer.

Getting it to settle before paint is the right plan. The kit does need a bit of fettling as you know,

Nice job so far. And who needs halibrands anyway

Thanks Tony. As we have done “terrible” things to Zeds it’s good that we are welcome.

Well you say that Dave, but looking at it you lads donate (sell) a lot of parts back to Z owners too so all is good as far as I can see mate.

Tony.

The way I see it is that you are keeping Zeds on the road and that can only be good

That’s a fair point Tony. Speaking of which I do need to get my finger out in the new year. I have front and rear lights, some average body panels, wind deflector and a full black OEM roll-hoop kit to sell on.

Will get some cleaning done and add them to the for sale section soon.

The way I see it is that you are keeping Zeds on the road and that can only be good
Thanks Jack. We do ! they are hidden a bit but the basis of the car is still Zed :)

I'm in Leics too, would be interested in seeing it and discussing the build if you would let me, been thinking of doing one at some point.
Hi Synclare. Sorry for delay. No problem viewing car and discussing build. I am in Ashby De La Zouch.
