I spotted a Z3 while visiting relatives in BC and had my granddaughter along. She checked the car out pretty carefully and said she liked it. When we got home she spotted a Z4. When we got home she asked me to buy a car for a project. I asked what she wanted and she said she wanted either a Z3 or Ford F 150. Didn't want a truck so started the hunt in Canada then the USA and Mexico. Priced way outside my budget so went to eBay UK. Found the car I eventually bought. , shipped it to Halifax, NS and then transported home. Every step was done on my iPhone. The smile on her face made it all worthwhile and she will get it as a gift when she graduates. That's how easy it is to fall for the z3. Glad you found your's, JIM

I wish that my parents and my grandmother (deceased at the ripe old age of 103) had been into cars like my brother, my grandfather and me. My grandfather passed away when I was about nine years old and he had a Jaguar XK140 DHC in his garage. I used to sit in that car and pretend I was driving it and can remember the smell of the dark read leather (similar to my Z in colour I like to think) like it was yesterday. Christ, I wish that they had kept that car.

It's ones like that that get away and that you never forget. At least we have those memories of that special car and special people. May they rest in peace!! JIM

Yeah I sourced some great condition sills and bought aftermarket front quarters to be fitted, bumper also resprayed due to severe road rash and number plate holder colour coded :)

All box sections treated as well, just need to find some decent rear quarter donor panels.

Invited me along to check out the progress earlier, theyve taken photos as well

Very nice Ash, wish I had your talent! Still looking into the cam situation but seems they either are huge money or extinct. How're you making out with the others. Let me know if I can do anything else for you to make things easier! JIM

HI Jim

There is one guy on bimmerforum offering the cams for a reasonable price, but I am waiting on them to see what shipping they offer.

Cheers

M50 manifold fitted along with a 68mm bore throttle and asc unit, all I can say is wow... :D

Comparison of the manifolds

Really cannot recommend both the mod and Ian who makes the kit enough.

Is the difference with the M50 manifold that big?
Is it top end power or low down in the revs?
What is in "the kit"?

Regards, Koen

Yeah one has oval inlets and the other has round. The standard inlet is restricting the air flow in..

Depending on your budget some tuning garages put together the parts you need to carry this mod out and price it up as a kit.

You can source the parts individually though with some research.

This link will tell you everything you want to know
