Holy crap batman!! I get all my parcels sent through the mail because I don't have any other choice but it works out pretty good in the end. Canada Customs are so short handed they can't pull aside every parcel to tax so most come through without any charges. I don't mind paying for the odd one that gets caught by them it's only fair. Hope everything goes the way you expect and I'll be watching for the results. Don't hesitate if you think there's something I can help you with. JIM

Ash,
Which was the most difficult to resolve? The airbag fault? Good job on all five

David.

@David Maxwell I'll be honest, most of that work is beyond my capabilities, so I paid a man..

but he complained the most about the bush inserts lol

Airbag light was simple really, seat adjustment threw up the error. Reset the error and it hasn't come back yet :)

The cams are in and the performance feels amazing :DI am going to book in for a remap with these guys www.e-maps.co.uk - then I will get a dyno for the results hopefully in a few weeks

Meanwhile I currently can't get to my wardrobe because of this lot
20150125_171807.jpg

Just need to order the seat loom connector and stowage box parts from Sopers and for the new seat bushes to arrive, then I can strip out my interior :nailbiting:

Also looking at a black/imola red cupholder armrest from Southernboy and black armrests for the door cards for some creature comforts.

A massive thank you to @spurs fan in a coupe for delivering my replacement rear quarters in person :)

Can't wait for the end result Ash with a list of parts. I'm looking into a 2.8 in Alberta but this damn stomach problem is keeping me down for a bit. Fortunately the guy just needs money and will store it till spring if I buy it. I imagine those cams went in fairly easily and you should feel it in the seat of your pants all the way through the power band. Too bad you can't get a rating before and after the remap. Would be interesting! Love the red/ black combo and I think Gaz wants to have some undies made from the leopard skins. Good thing it's not Panther or you'd have @BMBabe stalking you and not to stick a card on your windshield. JIM

Haha i knew i wouldnt get away with the leopard, it is a blanket of questionable taste - I have no idea where it is from, but i assure you it is only ever used to protect parts haha

Can't wait for the finished product to roll out Ash!! So looking forward to it but I'm also going to hate to see it reach the end I'm enjoying seeing what you're doing but @zedonist should have his clutch soon and I think he'll be moving from there to gearing with an E30 differential. Between the two of you and your research and progress with improving your performance I have given my grey matter a needed workout. JIM

Car is back from the bodyshop and is looking great now, had the door handles painted at the same time, so no more tired plastic :)

And then in a days work:

Replaced b&q compost bag (lol previous owner) door liner with BMW sound insulation - PN 51488410037 & 51488410038
Fitted new door cards
Replaced //M seats worn bushes to stop rocking
Stripped leather off drivers seat to repair the heated seat base wiring and reinforce the bolster, exactly same issues as in Gookah's guide
Fitted both new seats - loom adapter required PN 61106916218
Replaced the drivers seat belt tensioner loom with the loom from my existing drivers seat as the wiring was changed, possibly due to a BMW changing them over under warranty I think
Remove roll hoops and fitted rear stowage box, then refit hoops

Forgot to get the relay for the heated seats so I used the horn relay and currently just shout at other drivers :)

Pictures to follow tomorrow, time for a :beer

Cheers

Ash
