I thought it was just the six cylinder engines that had the water pump with the self destructing plastic impeller? Is this a job to add to our list?Yeah, the impeller is plastic and pressed onto the metal shaft. The plastic eventually cracks and the impeller stops turning. So it goes from running perfectly to a very fast overheat and potentially a headgasket failure. The very epitome of "a stitch in time". There's plenty of help and info on here about doing the job.
And here is me thinking that I’m the only one, who takes a while to sort any jobs out that need doing.I think it's pretty well across the board, all models are due a pump if not for the impeller issue then bearing failure and another sort of catastrophe. I'm a fine one to talk though, I've had a new one on the shelf for over a year now Already 1st on the list for the New Year when it warms up a bit.
10 front 20 back . All seems fine in drivingHi, what size spacers did you use? and does it have an effect on drive?
