Hi Agent B, welcome to the forum, looks like you and Frankie could get together and have your own little cruise! :coolsteer)and you never know, if you decide to do so and put a cruise thread on the forum, :computer: who else might join you!!!:)

Nice idea, but I suspect at the absolute nearest point of Virginia is about 170 miles from me. Would love to do the Blue Ridge Mts. or Skyline drive. Very possible.

Not impossible, Frankie, five of us motored over 200 miles up from East Anglia (EAC) to the Lake District to meet up with four others Zeds in September and cruised round the mountain passes for two days, one of those Zedders laid on a Barbeque for us all on the first night, ending with an evening meal together at our Hotel, before visiting the Museum where Sir Donald Campbell's two Bluebird vehicles were displayed. An amazing weekend, which we hope to repeat next year.

I know planning is everything. I should plan time off the way I have to plan everything else. Although there is much to be said about doing things at the spur of the moment. Sometimes a lot more fun. Now I have to look up:"Sir Donald Campbell's two Bluebird vehicles."

When the weather gets nice, sounds good. Zroadster.org has smaller groups within itself, maybe we'll be "the other side of the pond" group. Frankie
I was thinking the same the other day, but couldn't come up with a decent group name.

Let me know if you think of one and I'll set one up!

Like I said, if you do, Frankie, you'll never look back, since the EAC (East Anglian Crew) was formed in July 2011, we have met loads of Zedders, several of which we are proud to call friends and we have been cruising all over, with more than 30 pubs or restaurants on our list of watering holes!!:coolsteer)

It is quite surprising how many of you Guys from the States have been joining recently, I know that your country is massive and you may be more strung out compared to us, but you never know how it will go unless you try!!! Good luck!:computer::drinks::)

Perhaps this spring or late this winter I'll start to put out some feelers to members here to see if we can get something started. I should probably find some lable for a group over here as a start. Something that we can be identified with but still maintain a subordinate position to the main authority there. I'll have to start thinking of a name for the group and then run it by aceman or gaz to see what they think. Once this is established, we can start thinking about how we can get together and the things that can be done once we do get together. Advice from your end will be very helpful and appreciated. Frankie.

A really nice trip would be to go down to D.C. which is between Virginia and Maryland. I could meet up with Agent B and the other guy from north Jersey could go down there with me. A lot of good Z pictures down there.....The Capitol, White House, Smithsonian, Washington monument etc. But its 3 and a half hours one way and another hour for the guy in North Jersey, maybe 2 more if he's coming from Long Island. It would have to be an overnighter. Nothing wrong with that though.

Sounds like you're getting the wheels in motion! ;) Frankie. An overnighter or two is good for 'team' building, especially when you can book the rooms in the same part of the Hotel and the same table for Dinner & Breakfast the next morning! It also means that you can have a drink in the evening before rolling into bed. We have found that the navigating partners also feel a part of the crew and thoroughly enjoy it too!

You could become the 'Ultimate Zed Alliance' U.Z.A!!!!

agent b very nice car..!

atlanta blue is the best colour..(as i have said before!)..:)

2.8, fast, torquey, have driven one and really enjoyed the power!...I have the 1.9 version myself and chose it over the 2.8 for two reasons...

1) vanos...keep an eye on it they are known to be potentially problematic.

2) I prefer to drive a smaller engined car closer to the limit, but that is purely a personal preference (i'm the same with my bikes and have never owned anything over a 600cc)

the only other potential issue is the water pumps are a known weak spot on Z3's...and it is well worth looking at various suspension components such as bushes, arb's and coil springs..

and finally welcome to a fantastic forum with a nice friendly bunch of knowledgeable guys..my first year of Z ownership could have been very different if not for the helpful advice and wiki on here...

:welcome:

What looked like the centre can't remember roads
Sounds like you were looking at Nebraska or Kansas? Or maybe you meant the center of New Jersey? Anyways if you street view Clifton, Virginia those roads are some of my favorite.
