New Roof

Looking for a new roof i think.

Current one has considerable wear marks and isn't pretty, odd considering its not really done many miles. Anyway nor is it sealing properly i think at the rear, thus causing a leak into the boot.

Quoted £1120 fitted.

Anyone any experience advice recommendations please

Jack Smiths (Raymond Pugh) in Swansea ..less than £500 fitted. Pretty much the default solution for a new roof these days. Worth the trip.

As someone who had mine done in Swansea by Raymond last summer I highly recommend him - £450 fitted in about 3 hours

I have seen mixed reviews. Is it possible to post any photographs? Particularly the inner sealing and header rail with the roof open? Thanks a lot.

A leak into the boot? The bulkhead prevents such so I’d look again at where the ingress is.

Interesting you say "mixed reviews"...If you do a search on this forum for " Jack Smiths " "Raymond Pugh" will reveal literally numerous delighted punters who have taken the trip to Swansea and returned delighted with his work..I was one of them a couple of years ago and wouldn't hesitate to use him again as in my opinion (and others) his work is top notch ...

To be honest Chris if you have any doubt or concerns about the quality of his work at this stage for your own peace of mind you would probably be better off using somebody else with fewer "mixed reviews"

Don't musunderstand me. I bought and fitted my own roof so I have absolutely no reason to defend jack smith. I'm just interested in 'seeing' that bad feedback.

I used Paul at Soft Top Shop in Stockport. He is absolutely great at customer service and fits a roof like the original roof that he took off my Z. I’d use his business again as both the product and his approach are first class.

I agree and I saw the roof that Paul had fitted which persuaded me that The Soft Top Shop was the business I wanted to trust my car with. Same patterning inside the roof and vents either side as per the original roof that BMW fitted.
