Hi Carl welcome. I've just gone from a Z3 to a 2.5 Z4 as well and like you am not impressed with the constraints of the stereo. I need Bluetooth for phone conectivity and a USB port for a memory stick. I've got the multi CD changer between the seats but it' doesn't recognise mp3 files on CD so I need to change it. First thing I need to source is a a fascia panel adapter (Single Din). Has anyone bought one they can recommend I do or don't get?

Hi I got my fascia plate from Ebay but most car audio stockists have them but the whole set cost me £15. including the leads and Ariel connections. If you have a 10 speaker system you will have an amp in the boot. Even though mine did not have one it must of had one at some point to run all the speakers after lots of head scratching went to a local audio specialist for help who said it should have an amp. but we have bypassed the majority of the speakers to get sound and not blow the radio. He told me to source an aftermarket amp to get the rest working will be quite an easy fix but will meed to run phono leads from radio to boot for the amp.(stock BMW amp will not work apparently.)
hope this is of help will update once i have sourced an amp

Thanks Carl, I've used several companies to supply fascia panels in the past, in the end I settled with a company called Nexus. They are based in Cambridgeshire and can also supply all the leads needed to install audio equipment and even modules needed to retain things like steering wheel controls for the audio but unfortunately they have no fascias listed for the Z4 on their site. I have had differing quality from other companies such as poor colour matches to the dash and general cheaply made items so was actually after a bit more specific information. Very often when ordering from unknown companies on E bay and Amazon it's a very hit or miss affair.
