Phil,

Difficult to tell without seeing the car, but if you don't want to post links to specific cars for us to look at, then PM them to me and I'll give you my opinion (for what its worth!)

Not to add too much to your reading material, but this site will tell you a lot about the cars, colours, trim etc http://users.belgacom.net/bmw_z3/

Phil, I've sent you a long email. To be honest from the ad and pictures it looks a cracking little car! Definitely needs a test drive and viewing.

The dealer is in Essex and we have a few active locals on here. Perhaps one of them would pop along and have a look at it for you. Shame your not closer to me, else I would have gone...

Hey Phil a great welcome from me too, you will have already noticed there is a mountain of information on here and more people you can shake a stick at willing to help you as most have been in a similar position to yourself so can relate to the newbie experience.

with regard to mileages on Z3's you will find there is quite an array of cars with mileages ranging from sub 40k to 100k plus but don't think you are getting a good one just because the miles are low you need to go and see a few to really find out for yourself the breadth of quality out there. I was lucky and bought the first one a saw when I was in your position but was lucky and found a good one, then when I progressed onto my ///M I was in a position to be able to go for one that needed a bit of TLC as I new most of the ins and outs. My advice for what it's worth take your time go se a few with different engines and the one that is for you will jump out and smack you around the face and say buy me. :D

Hope you get your dream before too long and good luck.

Hi Phil. I have noticed you're in the Horwood House discount booking group but for the life of me I can't find a thread about your new purchase and what you got in the end after all that help that everyone offered. Have I missed your thread.????

Was away so not been checking the forum. Update is that I looked at three Z's, not one of them was as they were advertised, one even took me on a six hour round trip to see a pile of rubbish. I'm not a mechanic so have to make sure what I get is sound. Anyway have decided to wait till next year now and will most probably go for a newer Z4. I was at Horwood house on Friday afternoon but got taken I'll, so had to return home. Cost me a fortune with the hotel bill and the Silverstoneclassic tickets. Hope you all had a good time though. I did get to see some really smart looking Z's in the car park though before I left. Phil.

Gary I think you did see me, I parked next to you in my 3 series. I did not know it was you until I saw your number plate when we left. ( well i think it was you ) We had just done a four drive from the lake district so were pretty Knackered. We got to our room and then drove off to see some friends but as I mentioned it all went pear shaped after that. Phil
