Can I say it before anyone else, will that really be an issue lol
It is Pauline I have only done 6-7000 miles on my present tyres.

I don't track the car or spin the wheels, just normal driving.

They were vredestein sessanta.

Good grip, but rapid wear.

I expect a set of my tyres to last 12000 miles plus.

I'm going for Eagle f1's as I need a full set.

I've heard good reviews.

Are they good wearing tyres as well @peteslag ?

They last ages, very hard wearing tyre.

I had contact sport 5's on my megane just to try something different. They were no better than the f1's in terms of grip and only lasted 6000 miles of mostly motorway driving and one track day. Utter rubbish!

So if I've read this correctly, Macca going Bald, Frankie is Bald, Tony wants to go Soft, and BMG's tyres don't shine. Mrs Mint thinks BMG is Mad
Gail is Mad but only at redline. Peteslag has slicks and has changed his springs and lowrider has bicycle tyres? Oh well Richard I'd stick with the runflats at least it saves putting a question on here!!!!

Just read that vred ultracs are fabulous grip in the dry but poor in the wet and not the best at stopping. So, only dry weather and no stopping it is! :ymdevil::coolsteer)

F1's seem to be good at everything! They aren't priced to highly either so win win.

I was quoted £100 all inc. each for 255/35x18 at work. Don't know how that compares? Luckily my wheels have 7.5mm on the rears so hopefully lots of miles. Fronts nearer to 5mm but still good.

Tony.

i spoke to my tyre supplier friend about changing from run flats to "normal" tyres when the time comes and he said beware the insurance implications. You are going away from how the car was built and you may need to notify your insurer you have changed the spec!

That raises the question - what do you do when you buy a care when they have already been changed? How would you know?
The manual for my car doesn't specify RFTs yet it was probably supplied with them originally.
If the manual doesn't specify them as standard I would have thought the insurance couldn't argue as long as you have fitted the required specification.

I'm not an insurance specialist but in all of these types of instances
I suppose you just let them know to be on the safe side. If you do let them know and your premium is increased let us all know and we won't tell them.;)
