Ian i found the contis tramlined on the M so i went back to my old favourites the Avons...i went for the ZV5s.
i cant fault them no tramlining issues.... plenty of grip.... good in the wet and comfy.
theres obviously better out there but ill be sticking with these

Will look into the conti's Bill on Tyreleader as they are pretty good prices on there generally.

That's what I am afraid of Wayne hence why I am asking as I have suffered this myself in the past so want to make sure they are right particularly moving upto 18's where there is more chance of tramlining. I currently have Hancook's on the front and they track perfectly without a hint of tram lining or bump steer so in some respects I am attracted to them but I am getting dizzy with choices.

One of my mates who isn't a zedder also swears by Avons too but I know what you mean about not being regarded as the best, I suppose they are classed as mid range tyres but good to know they suit the zed which is so picky on its shoes.

Any pics of these wheel in your car @Aceman

I saw a black preface lift 2.8 with these on in Canterbury, quite surprised as I don't see many improved Z's and never seen one with Rotas!

I just have the standard 17" Roadstar wheels, these have Falken FK453 235/45 98Y R17 (front) & 255/40 98Y R17 (rear) fitted, no hint of tramlining, good in wet and dry conditions. After talking with John Safe (ZZZEMMCO on M Coupe forum) when I was purchasing my first M Coupe back in 2004 I went for Falken FK 452 of the same sizes as above. John does a lot drive on the Ring and swears by them, what's good enough for John is good enough for me. Reasonable price aswell, I got mine from Camskill and pay local tyre depot to fit/balance them. There maybe other makes of tyre which are better in one particular aspect of performance but as an all rounder the Falkens take some beating.

Falken's are very good tyres, the problem I have is that the place I work belong to a large buying group and that controls what they buy to sell on. maximum profit is king sadly. We haven't sold Falken tyres for a good while now.:(

Quite interesting reading who owns which tyre brand

Falken are Goodyear
Avon are Cooper
Uniroyal are Conti in Europe and Michelin in US
Firestone are Bridgestone.

Ha,Ha, no I'm not a fan of black wheels to be honest Ian, and, judging by the wheels we're now selling at work I think the "craze" (for want of a better word) has run it's course. More sets of brighter silver/chrome wheels these days. Shadow chrome is a nice compromise and is one I would consider when I get my 108's done. I really like minimal amount of spokes in a wheel and six is good. Those wheels would look good with black centres and bright rims?

Tony.
I'll get my coat lol.........................
