Hi all, I’m about to become the next owner of a first registered 1999 z3 1.9 finished in Fiji Green with chrome pack. The car has covered 87,000 miles. Yes, it’s a wild colour scheme however, I’m a fan of the eclectic side of life 😆
Currently the car is out of mot as of Feb 2024 and has sat in a garage for the past 18 months. From previous mot history it would seem the car is quite sound but I’ll need to re commission it having sat unused.
I have no idea what the realistic market value of the car is - and advice would be welcome.
The car is rust free from what I’ve seen in person though I haven’t had a look underneath yet, last MoT records don’t ring alarm bells.
Comments, advice about re commissioning etc all welcome.

I’m guessing a full service is a good start. My Z has been off the road for about 18 months due to it needing major surgery. One of the things that has been done is a service.

Welcome from Leeds, how old are the tyres?
Is the soft top in a good state, they delaminate over time.

Welcome to the forum.

Recommissioning? I'd get it started and go for an MOT. Even if it faols. At least you'll see what needs doing to get it through.

Mine is a 1999 1.9 with 88,000 mls so quite similar, age/milage wise, to yours.

With a full year's mot I'd have valued mine at around £1500 if that. 1.9's don't hold much value nowadays.

That's before I chopped it up and used it as the donor for a kit car.

Hi, sorry for late response: I’m on the Moray Coast near Cullen. Wonder if there are any Z3 owners close by?
Might be. They’ll tootle along in due course.
Enjoy your first project Z car day today. Looking forward to seeing the before pics and progress photos.

Welcome to the forum!

Here is a link to a thread to assist in parts buying:

I’ve just done a full front suspension refresh on mine, all from Autodoc, all lemforder (top aftermarket brand), and all in it was around £350 which wasn’t too bad.

I also did a full cooling system pipe replacement as all the pipes and hoses were quite old and brittle. Once again most things from Autodoc

Hope this helps
Chris
