I will go first. Introducing my first roadster. Purchased on a whim, maybe my first midlife crisis. Now you might understand my screen name..I sold it because one day I went shopping and bought a tub of fresh mussels, when unpacking my shopping I noticed the mussels were missing, thought not much of it at the time "ah well I left it on the self checkout bench" sort of thing. Only to find it 3 months later after the wet season under the folded roof on the rear parcel tray, to be honest I thought a rat or something had died in the garage . But what had happened was that the tub of mussels exploded all by itself.. So I traded it in on along with all the 10mm sockets hiding in the engine bay on a Mitsubishi Pajero, Only to find out later what Pajero meant in Spanish. Oh the irony...=)). But now I have a Z3, second midlife crisis, what could possibly go wrong.... Oh thats right, I,m allowed three midlife crises apparently, stay tuned..

Yes, never fancied driving around in one of those, when I lived in Spain I didn't fancy a Polo either :oops:May have had to wipe off something similar written in the dust on my cars, but that's another matter! :D

Had a number of standard run of the mill cars over the years but my favourite by far was my Fiesta RS Turbo. Pretty much show condition so would be worth a fortune now :arghh:

Pic not mine but it was a white H reg.

My first car was the Sunburst red XR3. £600 insurance as a 17-18 year old in the late 80s.

White XR2 was the best, silver XR2 was still outstanding stolen last time I checked 15 years ago or so !

Got the Z now, 2 bikes, pretty settled unless I suddenly find myself in the market for the RS6 Avant 🔥👌

Has anyone ran their old reg numbers through Vehicle Smart. Still holds data to a degree on the cars.
I use to use it at work when Pnc was down or I'd only got a wrong reg on something id lost from FTS.
Handy tool for MOT history checks when buying

Mine’s not a long list (for 30 years of motoring) as I tend to keep cars until they fall apart, or I wear them out. The green ones I still own.
  • Mini Metro 1.0L
  • VW Polo GT coupe
  • VWPolo GT40 Coupe
  • BMW e34 BMW 520i (as I wanted something more suited to the longer distances I was commuting)
  • VW Corrado VR6
  • BMW e34 M5 (3.8 6-speed)
  • Jaguar XJ30
  • BMW e34 M5 (3.6 5-speed)
  • BMW Z4MC
  • A couple of Alfa 147 JTDs as winter bangers, to run alongside the Z4MC
  • e46 330D to replace the Alfas
  • F31 320D Touring when the 330D’s GM auto failed for the second time within 12 months
  • F31 335xD Touring

200k business miles in Z3M Coupe! That must have been fun. I’m very jealous.

My car history is very brief and boring considering I started driving in 1993.

1. 1984 BMW 518i

I also had two very enjoyable periods of being the custodian of an X5 and an Alpina B5 Touring, but didn’t own them.

Alpina B5 Touring,
Can't beat an 'Alp'.
I also had one for a very brief period a few years ago. An E92 B3 Bi-Turbo. Mine sold again recently for £10k more than I bought it for!
IMG_8431.JPG

Then went all 'vert' and got an F33 440i which I also didn't keep for long.
IMG_8794.JPG

Then had a mid life crisis and went all 'boy racer' with a Honda Civic FK8 Type-R. Kept that for 6 months as the wife was embarrassed by it. Great cars though!

Jeez mines a list that would bore the hell out of people BUT. First car was a Triumph Dolomite, loved it as probably everyone did their first set of wheels. Second was an absolute mint Capri 2.0 Ghia in Daytona Yellow, wish I still had it but I barrel rolled it one late dark night in the lanes. After that it was a few Cortina's and Granada's with a Saab 900 and Peugeot 405 thrown in until the company car days came along.

A small selection of mine over the last 25 years, up to 2000 boring family saloons, Cavalier Mondeo etc but fun since. Sadly no images of the Integrale and Jaguar XJ12. I did have an MX5 NA but cant find any pics, the Smart roadster was great fun but bone rattling at the same time.
