We are just back from almost three weeks driving holiday.
Started Leeds to Marlow for a Michelin starred lunch at the Hand and Flowers which usefully provides a good range of quality non+alcoholic beverages.
Then to Portsmouth and the Friday night ferry to Santander arriving Sunday morning. First stop Bilbao, then St Sebastian - ate a lot of Pintxos!
Onto Briones in the heart of Rioja country, then gentle climbing to Jaca followed by serious tight climbing roads to Sort which is a Pyrenean ski resort in the winter.
Then across the border and down to Carcassonne, then Montpellier, Nimes, Roussillon, and Aix-en-Provence all interesting places not too far apart.
Long haul to Annecy and swimming in the lake. Next stop Troyes, then Calais and the tunnel and home to Leeds.
2400 miles in total with no problem and 34mpg. Petrol cheap in Spain, expensive in France.
