Maybe because they use it for Z4Forum and/or .net?

Tony.
I know you need to use it or something else on .net but they haven't improved since 2011. You don't need it on here.

Isnt it about recovering threads with PB pictures?
It ended up having two issues raised, one being PB images. Annoyingly it's getting full up with a lot of crap as well now ;)

That is the foremost reason I joined .org Mike. It's a much more user friendly site for people (like me) with not a whole lot of tech know how.
Thanks have to go to Gaz for making this happen.

Tony.

There have been lots of websites that start out for free. Nothing in this world however remains free for ever. Somebody somewhere has to pay. The race to monetise a service usually means subscriptions and/or advertising. When they change their operating model they invariably end up annoying 80% of their users.

It takes an awful lot of effort to manage the systems and services for a very modest subscription and that, thanks to Gary's constant work, is to cover basic costs. We are very lucky and very thankful to have a very user friendly system.

just deleted my PB account after removing all the photos, My journal is now changed to Flickr photo's, but my Flickr Pro is not free either....
Is there a bulk way to download your own photos or do you do this on an individual basis?

I couldn't find one, It is not on the menus when you do a select all.. I ended up having to do them one at at time.
The only satisfaction I got what after this I could leave a comment on why I was closing the account.
Hopefully everyone does it and this greedy company folds.

Good news for everyone using the "free" level of Flickr.... As predicted the era of "free" is dimishing, so for those who jumped to Flickr from Photobucket get ready to move again or get ready to dip in to your wallet. If you don't wanna pay, best start downloading...

https://blog.flickr.net/en/2018/11/01/changing-flickr-free-accounts-1000-photos/
https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018...ed-to-1000-pictures-the-rest-will-be-deleted/

"for those accounts that do pass the limit, the decision to actually delete pictures (rather than merely freeze the accounts and prevent any further uploads) represents a kind of destruction that should alarm any users of any kind of online storage provider."

Always going to happen. Nothing in this world is ever free. They’ve got to monetise their services beyond a certain level of usage. The alternative is adverts. Am sure FDs will be looking to check if costs/user really match revenues and I bet pay to use on good platforms is healthier in the long term.
Am surprised it’s taken so long.
