Some new gear, that will guarantee cloudy nights for the next month or so...Just a clip on to the existing rig.. Its that little tiny telescope nearest with its own little camera on the back..now that talks to the tiny computer on top and instructs the mount to make tiny corrections to tracking by watching the field of view for any deviation, whilst the main scope and camera collect the images..theory is I should be able to go well past 60 seconds per frame.. When the clouds clear.... Just thought you might find it interesting.. If I get stellar results, Ill post em up. If I don't you will hear no more of it...=))

Just back from a couple of days away down on the Cassowary Coast, hoping to get a picture of a Cassowary. A large Australian bird that should be extinct, :( but its not quite, yet.... We did get a picture of its egg thief though, a Goanna quite a big one about a 1.5 meters..

And this one , my wife got this morning. The bird is a kookaburra its prey is what looks like a white tailed rat, that apart from being a protected species, its only other claim to fame is climbing into you engine bay and making a nest out your wiring loom, good onya kooky.

Happened to me twice both with 1HZ diesels, that fortunately still run without one. I have have never seen a rat eat through starter cables...All the wires in the loom 20 or 30 of them for instruments and comfort, nibbed off at the firewall grommet and gone...

@t-tony ,its a cooled camera, and therefor predictable in the thermal noise from the sensor, that is subtracted from the image actual.. I should be able to push 5 minutes or so per image, stack those and then deduct the noise... But that is in a perfect world...;)
