Need to finish off the mounting bracket and get an extra jubilee clip and it almost done. Just working out something for the airscoop at the front.

I'm adding some flexi ducting to the front of the cone enclosure that will go behind the grill to a scoop of some sort just working that bit out

Looking a bit neater now, just thinking about spraying it or leaving as is.

Those are the two brackets I used to make mine. The guy wanted £100 for a one off made to measure.

I had to use one of these as mine has the N52 engine and the maf housing is built in to the air box.

Neil, I'm a little behind on your progress at the moment. I've found the brackets, but have you got a link to the red hoses you've used? Was it preformed with the bend in it?

Really want to get mine sorted, and I think your design should sort the issues I was getting with tripping the engine management system.

My enigine management light came on a couple of times but I'm hoping now I have the air scoop as a direct feed on to the end of my filter it will be ok. All the hoses were from eBay I just had to cut them down as the 90 degree angle is pretty tight fit. Will put some links up shortly.

Be interesting to see if it does cure the management light, My theory was the increased airflow causing it to over cool the sensor.

My light came on twice, both times cruising on the motorway in 6th rather than when accelerating which is when I would of expected it to.

Another thing I read on the American forums was a spacer to make the sensor sit higher, also check that the fit is air tight round the sensor.

Is it a running lean error ?

Edit: it could even need a map to allow the larger air intake.

The fit on the sensor is really good, the quality of the maf housing from the states is excellent. It may sit higher like you say. Looking at getting it remapped next month so will be interesting to see if that has an effect. I can't remember what code it was but said it was to do with the maf. I deleted it last night as I've just taken it for an oil change today. Hopefully I won't see it again but if it does come on I will make a note of it.

Just remembered I took these the first time it came on. I'm presuming the semiconductor time was the same code.
