Marcus States that since the work was done the exhaust was chucking out a mixer of oil and water :( which he thinks was traped previously in the exhaust

I think more diagnosis needs doing before spending money, a compression test will confirm if the issue is in the engine, I would do an in depth flush though before removing the head and stripping the ccv will discount it or prove it. Unfortunately it needs exploring so a little bit of labour is called for

The oil is the first needed sorting out the water is likely just condensation in the sections of the exhaust. After seeing the plug condition there's likely just as much crap built up in the system. Get that engine diagnosed and go from there. Sounds like the guys have a good basis to where they've got to go looking. Almost makes me wish I could fly over and open beer bottles while watching all those young bucks working together. JIM

Wish I could Stacey, I'm fighting off a stomach infection repeat that put me in hospital for 16 days last March plus 5 weeks before they could diagnose it and get me on a med cocktail to kill it. Would be a difficult decision between meeting everyone and going to Chile to see my little man pictured below. JIM ps he's at the beach eating a sand wich lolimage.jpg

Wow again guys I am stunned by the amount of advice that's being given, all of it I'm finding hugely helpful so thank you again my fellow zedders. The rocker cover gasket and air intake job that Ben done was perfect, she sounds so much better but now I still don't know if she's burning oil as the exhaust has a bit of oil in it to burn out before I will know if the gasket has cured that problem, so a careful drive with a bottle of oil is needed, in the meanwhile I'm trying to sort the roof out, I will be pestering the guru Lee in the near future lol, there is so much to do but I'm sure that with my fellow members posts I won't bankrupt myself on this project, Anyway I hope your all having a good weekend speak to you soon

Hi guys I'm sure you are all right about all of it, funny thing is she still drives and the only performance issue is this burning oil, hopefully it won't burn any more once I get the excess oil out the exhaust and then its just replacing super old/worn parts to ensure no further problems arise, I hope!! Really want my Z back for the summer :(

I would go with Zedonist, there is so many things it could be now a full strip and clean would really benefit.

Up to you but it's usually better to include personal info like phone numbers in a PM.

Thanks for that statement, it's one I never expected to hear about this forum and made my weekend. Nearly peed myself but didn't have a Depends on, good thing!! Take your car for a good long run with some extra oil in the boot and heat that exhaust up, should clean it up nicely. Just check your level a few times and hopefully your problem is over. JIM
