OK here I am! I know it was a freebee after Santa Pod and because i had to travel all the way to Northampton for what I
was told was a small increase in BHP something in the region of 15bhp, because of the naturally aspirated engine on the zeds I was wondering if the trip was worth it.
Got there at half ten and was greeted by John Thorn, Thorney Motors and Santa Pod sponsor, what a great guy! A coffee and a chat to start
and register the car in. Then he said "Did you tell me it was an Alpina", Yes I had, he had doubts because he said that Alpina's could have
an ECU that sometimes cant be read by his computer!! anyway after checking it read it ok, apparently the ECU on mine is an E46 M3
model ECU.
It took about 3 hours to set the re-map and then they took it for a test drive.
Had a chat with John then for a few mins asking him was there any issues with the engine, had they noticed any noises or other matters
that need dealing with, and none, so all is well under the bonnet.
He did say that even though the uprated BHP isn't great I should find quite a difference in the cars performance, its not unusual to get a better
result from a naturally aspirated engine that one's with turbo's.
On my way back I have to say it took a few miles before I got used to the difference, it was impressive I must say!! The throttle response is so sensitive, if I just breath on the pedal it responds with thrust, I had a quick car, now I have a quicker car! Its just the feel of driving power this
Re-map has given the car makes it sooooo different. Big smile most of the way home, had my camera alert on good job, not that I was speeding you know!! just testing it here and there.
Was it worth it.......YOU BET! Roll on Santa Pod 2016.
Big thank you to Thorney Motors. :racecar: :scorecard:
Now then swamper practice your gear changes ready....:coolsteer)
Really pleased to hear the result is good, I had my car mapped earlier this year, is was not a night and day difference but it just seems to pull and pull now. Thorney MS have a good name for this sort of thing.

P.S. you really are in ///M territory now :)

Noted Brian, thank you. TBH, I have some things I would rather do before that anyway. Just something for the back burner.

Tony.
