Putting on new drop links as the ones on were suspect for my clicking at the back

I have the old ones off

how the hell do you get the new ones on, i have tried silicone lubricant but just can't get the leverage

to get the link onto the roll bar at the top.

You need to get the roll bar off, put it in a vice and then knock the bush on with a relevant size socket, or find someone with Gorilla size arms to twist and push on for you. Both methods will need lubricant

Agree it is an awful lot eaisier with the roll bar off and even the it's hard work pushing the links on. If you take it off make a note how the roll bar fits in as it is and odd shape and easy to get it confused putting it back.
Also a bit easier with the spare wheel carrier off. One bolt at the rear and the support wire unscrews from the carrier.

Job done, what a pain that job was. not hard just tricky

bought these drop links from the bay

got the old ones off

you can see the holes in the old ones elongated compared to the new ones

as said had to remove the full anti roll bar to do this properly, removed spare wheel carrier and unclipped the rear silencer off the rubber mounts
when off the car cleaned up bar and with silicon spray put on the link by putting it in the vice

and put back on the car

AND THE RESULT

STILL HAVE THE BLOODY CLICKING NOISE ......

what else could it be????

now fitted new

1. new rear shocks
2. new top mounts
3. new big rear subframe bushes
4. new drop links
5. new disks
6. new pads
7. new shoes
8 new hand brake cable
9. new tires

what next

There's also the problem with aviary which comes loose in the fuel, another member had this issue, you could have checked this and straps easy when doing the large bushes, sorry for the hind sight.

Looking at that hard top thankfully i don't think it is that, it is definitely a sound from a bush or something

if you can imagine a hole with a bolt threw it and you rub the threads in and out

it is that kind of sound.

There is no way these were going on by hand even when roll bar was off the car.

I thought the same the first time but refused to take the roll bar off, sprayed some WD on and pushed them on, yes it took a good but of force, taking them off I didn't care as I was changing them anyway so just levered them back and forth till they came off. least you got it done anyway, good to know you don't have to worry about them for a while :)

Hope you find this rattle soon Stevie, you seem to have been chasing this for a while.

P.S. I have a spare set of these drop links, anyone needing them send me a PM.

It is quite most of the time. it clicks with the change in camber on the road. when i reverse up onto my drive, pull a way from a junction with the steering turned ( i suppose you could ca;; that camber change)
over some but not all bumps

as said tomorrow i will be taking it back up to the ramps so will take video of how it sounds now

this is what it did sound like last year ( please forgive me talking to my mate john in it, i was trying to get his advice)

I have an annoying rattle in/under my car on the nearside somewhere maybe behind or under the seat. Best description is if you've ever heard an old knackered seat belt recoiling too fast, it sounds like that. But if I tap the bottom of the fuel tank on the nearside you can here the noise too. I will try to record the noise when I get back to work. Also my dash cam picks up a very tinny buzz from the area of the rear view mirror. Any help appreciated.

Cheers,Tony.
