You can’t buy Red callipers as far as I’m aware. You can clean and paint your own ones?

Tony.

As others have said you can do them yourself with caliper paint. Need wire brush, cleaner and suitable size brushes.

Unless you're going for an aftermarket set up you're best to strip and powder coat them I find. Just make sure you buff back all the pad contact points, then rebuild the calipers with a rebuild kit. Not that expensive to do if you can DIY. I think my powder coating was £25 and the rebuild kits were roughly a tenner. I find the paint only looks fresh for a short period before it tarnishes, powder coat keeps the bright colour for longer.

Mine still look as fresh as the day I did them.. (only driven 3 miles to the test station) :)

And my 2011 E89 Z4.

These were done using K2 Caliper paint, which is a good quality paint and still look as good today.

Plenty of videos on YouTube about caliper painting. Plus I believe you can have them painted if you send them away. That means removing them ect. I dosnt seem to difficult to do them while still on the car.

I've seen them done without removing them, with the carefully applied paint trailing over pads as well. Not a good look, especially when it's so easy to take them off. A quick google will bring you people like this if you don't want to diy.

An expensive but extremely good quality alternative is professional refurbishment..

I’ve used these guys twice now..they can sort out all those shitty issues with corrosion etc …new seals, boots et etc ..plus infinite colour matches..

I‘ve used them twice now , the quality far exceeded what I could achieve…but I may be a muppet..

I have always achieve glass like finish, removed prepared and sprayed not brush painted. I use caliper paint but @Sean d says ordinary paint is just as good and he should know, it's his trade. I would always do it myself as its not difficult, preparation is always the key.

ok here goes, stupid question time. Have a bit of time on my hands and this thread has just made me realise that I would like to paint my calipers and was thinking of doing them insitu...how easy is it removing them? Will I need to do stuff with the brake fluid etc?

Removing them is a matter of minutes, and as long as you don't disconnect the brake hoses you won't need to bleed the brakes afterwards. Will be a fiddly job if the brakes stay connected but 100% doable.

I can recommend Foliatec brake caliper paint, looks really great and it's a two component paint so will last forever.

I decided to go for powdercoating on my Coupe and didn't regret it :)

K2 calliper paint is very good quality. I used Aerosol rather than brush. If you do them in situ you will be restricted to brush painting, which isn't a bad thing. Bleeding brakes is easy, not some kind of magic. You don't need a helper if you do it how I do, just a little patience.
One of these helps (easy to make your own @Mazza)

They are just bare steel with anit-corrosion coating.
