Your's run on DC current which will give you a jolt. Ours are 120AC which isn't as big a jolt but still dangerous. That's why I want a gas model. Costs me a fortune in cords as they keep getting shorter and shorter. But they are the ultimate in push?? Mowers. And no picking up clippings. I can't even find an old gas model here. JIM

Buy a couple of goats and you'll never need a mower ever again, or a hedge trimmer. You'll need a big shovel though, lol

Jim, the mains powered mowers run on 230v AC over here. There are some battery operated models (12v), the advantage is no power cords.

Are they as powerful as the gas engines. If even close I need to figure out how to get one. I have a couple of acres that I do and the flymo fits underneath my cars stored out back. If the battery lasts long enough it would be perfect. People here look at me like I'm a Martian when I talk about a mower that hovers as it mulches my grass and have people actually drive over because they think I'm BSing them. The looks are priceless as you can imagine!! I'd imagine I'd need to put in a charger outlet but that's no problem. I regularly chop up cords so a battery would save me money big time. Thanks for the info. Wish I could ship one in my car but that's a no no unless I rent a container for an extra £600 over the £1045 for roll on- off!

mmmm I'm not sure a battery operated one would be good enough for a couple of acres Jim:(. But there are some 36v Li ion ones out there now suitable for lawns up to 500 sq.metres....

At the risk of starting something here, sheep do the job.

You won't find a battery powered hover mower because the batteries are too heavy to get lift.

Heavier than a 6.5 hp 2 stroke Tony? Because my first one had no problem lifting off and the electric motor on this one is pretty big and heavy.. What I need it a riding mower that hovers. The best of all worlds. Perhaps when @jue1 takes over Top Gear she'll build me one!! JIM
