Its not that hard a job to take the outer sills off, take the wheel arch liners out and then work along taking the bolt/screws out underneath and the hidden ones behind the front side panel. Once free pull the sill out away from the plastic jacking points to reveal the inner sill and its condition. Best take those plastic jacking point inserts out and check clean any rust behind them. Once clean and front and rear ends are rust treated a good covering of clear Waxoyle should be applied, I coated the rears of the cover sills in black Waxoyle then refitted them using stainless hex headed self tapping screws/bolts. If you have to replace the cover sills get them painted before fitting to the car. As you are on a sloping drive maybe park the car on some blocks so you give yourself more clearance to get at the fixings and jacking points. Probably have to take the wheels off to get the wing liners out before putting the wheels back on to put it on some blocks.

You also want some new clips for the upper cover that clips back on the sill they break when taking the cover off. Probably take you a good hour to take one side off you will do the other one faster. You will need to take the wing liners out to get at some sill fasteners behind it.

Can you get these outer sills off and refit the same ones without scratching/damaging any paintwork?

I'm thinking of doing it for the purposes of putting some corrosion protection on the inner sills
