Hi I am trying to find a company/garage to re map my car to take advantage of the modifications Roy made to it to get the full benefits of these, however I am hitting a brick wall as 2 local rolling road tuners say car too old , not worth it etc etc etc , plus phone calls to others even had an email from one tuning comp questioning my sanity (fair enough).I am not off course expecting the world so was wondering if anyone has any experience or recommendation of remapping companies would be appreciated my location is Mansfield Notts
Thanks

@Paul Rice organised one not far from you, well I am assuming it was closed to Mansfield as @Grumps went and he gets ill if he travels more then a few miles in his Z :D

I can't remember what Roy did exactly, but when we did the manifold swap on @Oldguysrule's 2.8 we fitted a new ECU which had already been mapped and had the limiter raised. Think it came from eBay, if you want me to try and find out where it came from I can ask Lee or Trev.

This was the sort of thing, he does want to get Trevs live mapped at some stage to better suit the setup. Can't give you too much of a recommendation as results will vary - including negatively, but will give you something to read at least!

Enda Ward from http://www.endtuning.com/ has been doing this for years and come highly recommended from my research. Very knowledgeable and I’ll likely use him to do my own ECU (I’d prefer to keep the family immobiliser)..give me a few years though as it’s only about 5yrs from when I first contacted him and I’m still to actually get the manifold etc fittted

We had a rolling road day at Noble Motorsports at Chesterfield. They do re mapping and testing but as most without a turbo limited results from re mapping but for £40 you will know what its pumping out, If you can put up with your pride and joy screaming its nuts off and smelling like a bad fart its worth the money IMO, plus mine ran a lot better after having the cat cleaned out

This zed came on the rollers with us end of last year so we know it needs a live map to bring it all together. If my memory serves me well it was sub 210. It should be quite a bit more with the work Roy’s done.

Thanks Paul , Lee I had it on rollers last week and it came out as 196.5 Bhp at Nobles £60 which was fine but I asked them if they could do the remapping etc and run it again but they didn't want to carry on and left it at that, rather disappointing. This is why I am looking further afield now .

I used CG Remaps in Market Drayton Shropshire. Had a live map on mine after the M52TU manifold conversion. It was only at 200hp after the conversion and I thought it would be more based on stories I'd read. After the live map it was upto 220hp, drove a lot smoother, the flat spots had been ironed out and its pulls very well from the off. I would like to get the limiter removed at some point, didn't know this could be done at the time so never asked if he could do it. He doesn't have a rolling road, the car is weighed on all 4 corners and taken out on the road to get the figures which he said is a more accurate way of testing it.

Dotted line is before, solid line after.

I don't know either but he specialises in BMW and builds track cars so i'm told so he's certainly worth a call.
196bhp is low as Roy has done the manifold swap. Mines standard other than a cone filter and stainless exhaust and pulled 195bhp at nobles so should be plenty more available out of yours.

Yes that’s what I am hoping, I’ve now got it booked in on Friday at Custom Cars @ Burton on Trent , fingers crossed.

Now the road test sounds interesting- don’t they have to redline it in 4th to do a ‘power run’

Hi update on remap it was 200bhp at the flywheel but he commented about the heat generated and his fan not been able to reduce this so mapped accordingly, so maybe a few more horses? Torque 365.79 , nice fella 3 1/2 hrs plus a road test. He’s raised the limiter and says when driving car will suck in air which will cool engine so maybe again a few extra Bhp? No idea to be honest, overall very happy

Still seems a bit low. With an M50 manifold conversion I'd expect 210-215bhp. @Antm72 has had the conversion done and his pulled 220bhp at nobles when we went last.
