Yes very pleased thank you but as the percentage losses are subjective actual bhp at engine will always be open to debate I guess ,but very happy to be able to have that potential output.You're engine is producing close to 235BHP if you've got 199.64BHP at the wheels with a 15% loss or 227BHP if you've only lost 12% efficiency. Either way, they're good numbers
Yeah already have noticed the difference in acceleration (I think or maybe just in the head) either way very pleased, over last 48 hrs have found how subjective this is ie losses fwd,rwd 4wd etc but hey happy with overall results.Thought that was the case that they hadn't give you the figure everyone goes by. Hi cheers Roy you were right the remap really took advantage of all your effort and hard work and I am very appreciative of that, the difference in torque is very noticeable. Regarding mpg got to be honest never gave it a thought! Hope to catch up at some meeting in the future as need to check out your new motorHi guys,only just caught up on this thread.(truthfully I must of missed it somehow or other) Had this Z3 twice on the rollers in last 18mths, once here at Hemel and once at the gathering with southern Z shed both were around the 208bhp flywheel figures. Sure I put or left the chart in the docs or in the boot when I sold it. I just knew it needed a proper power remap which usually takes ages and costs around £400, it did have a generic map put on it but that is only geared to give best outcome on a standard engine. I'm actually not surprised with the gains as both rolling road testers told me something is holding it back. The ducted air passage from the kidney grill to the air filter must have now come into its own, shame I just couldn't get a big bore throttle body for it which would have given another 5-7hp on its own.Aparently no one has done this mod to a standardTB for the 2.8 tu, every one I've asked says it just can't be done, personally don't believe it. Well the the wheel hp certainly does confirm that you'll only get the benefit of the manifold swap if your prepared to do the remap, wether the gains are worth it is subjective but then most of us are prepared to change wheels at a huge cost without any real performance gains so that's a good argument for spending what seems a lot for such small but not insignificant gains. So so glad you took my advice Steve and you now have the benefit of the work that I carried out. Shame I left it to you to have to pay out.
Hope your getting loads of smiles for miles. You didn't give us any MPG figures and I'm thinking there may be a gain in that area too.???
