...Best ones I had were in Audis and Kias...
The Kia we bought in Feb has a TomTom sat nav built in. Pleased with that as I have uploaded all my favourite places into it:thumbsup:

If your happy to have never ending arguments with you partner then stick to your maps, We/she bought the best Tom Tom we could afford by me asking her if she wanted to carry on being my navigator or go halves with me for a peaceful life in the car, no brainer. I didn’t even pay half for all units so far or the Go 6200 she just got me, result.
Gone are the days when she would say, “ that’s clever you know another way then, cos you just missed the turning I told you to take 1/2 mile back”. “ ssssook I no where I am”. “LIAR.” :blackeye: and you all know the rest.
Tom Tom/Garmin/ all sat navs are the saviour.

Roy.

Big fuss a couple of years ago when they declared that it was the lifetime of the particular model which sounds like they can just change it whenever. Their terminology on this subject stinks. My first Tom Tom was the most advanced and expensive one in the 90s had to throw it in the bin after buying two new batts for it over some 12 or so years. That was also with lifetime updates and I’m still alive so maybe someone told them Im dead.:sour:

Hmmmmmmmmm ...............”wife!!!!!! You ever been in contact with Tom Tom ????.”

Glad I bought new one too Niall.
Tom Tom Go 6200, my third tomtom, a bit of a handful for me but getting used to it. No more connecting to computer for updates, does it on WiFi, can leave it in car and pre-plan my route on mobile using My Drive get into car and transfer it in seconds. Much more useful than the outdated BMW sat nav in the car which doesn’t even recognise post codes. Bought latest updated disc for it and still doesn’t impress me. Complete waste of dashboard space. Have adapted a Tom Tom mount to go into disc player as I don’t use discs.

Agree I use myRoutes a lot and I just send routes to Tom Tom MyDrive and they appear on the satnav. Beats the my 1996 AA Road map. ;)

Bought the Tomtom XL2 so I'll now see if I can work it! Sure it will do all I want. I haven't noticed that many places have moved recently so I doubt that I will need map updates. The odd road alteration I'll cope with.

I have a tom tom 6200 pro but obviously use it all day every day. I've had both and would definitely go tom tom over Garmin. As @Rha has said just make sure its not to old as it won't be able to update.

Famously, in these parts, when Andre Wisdom signed from Liverpool to Derby he obviously just got in his Lambourghini , set the sat nav to Derby's Training Ground and followed the instructions.=)) He ended up stuck up to the axles in the middle of a wood some miles away!!
