Appreciate that Steve but unfortunately I've failed to get my papers stamped on this occasion.

The Mrs has made me aware of other plans we already have in place that would make a Friday / Monday departure problematic - as you can probably tell she manages me very much on a need to know basis =))

Anyway I hope it all goes well and judging by the photos you're going to have a lovely time :thumbsup:

Are there places left, we have managed to change some dates around so are now free that weekend.

UPDATE 4TH AUGUST 24.

Hi guys not long to go now weather still looking like flip of a coin.

I have added the my route links too the first post tor those wanting to add the route to their sat nav .

The various stops are all set up and good to go.

Weekend itinerary.

So Friday night gather at the hotel ready for the weekend ahead.

Saturday morning after breakfast departure will be 9.30 am.

After leaving the hotel will will head back to the Southbound A77 which we will follow for around 8 miles to the village of Minishant just outside the village we tirn left following the b7045 through Kirkmichael to Straiton where we will turn left onto the b741 moors road this will take us to the A713 ( Galloway tourist route) just outside Dalmellington we will the follow the A713 for around 12 miles to our first stop at Carsphairn tea room ( cuppa and some nice home baking) arriving there around 10.40 for around a 45 - 55 minute stop.

Leaving Carsphairn just after 11.30 we will carry on south on 713 to St John's Town of Dalry turning left onto the A702 which we will follow for around 15 miles through Moniaive to just past Kirkland where we turn right onto the B729 which we will follow to Dunscore where we turn left onto ( think said the c113n) for around 4 miles which takes us out at the A76 just outside Algirth where we will literally go right then straight left into the Friars Carse which will be our lunch stop booked there at 1pm.
Lunch stop will be an hour.

Leaving Friars Carse around 2pm we will then follow the A76 to Carronbridge turning right back onto the A702 following this through the Durisdeer pass to Elvanfoot ten following alongside the M74 for a couple of miles to Abington turning left onto the B797 which we will follow through Ledhills and Warnlockhead to the Mennock pass ending at the A76 at Menock we then head back down the A76 to Thornhill where we will stop at the cafe for the afternoon stop which will be around 45 mins.

Last leg is to follow the A76 to the A70 then follow it to the A77 at Ayr then back to the hotel.



Day 2 again after breakfast leaving at 9.30.

The first small bit the same we will follow the A77 south through Minishant to the Maybole bypass roundabout where we will turn left onto the B77 into Maybole then left onto the B7023 following through Crosshill to Straiton where we will follow the single track Newton Stuart road ti our first stop at Gleentrool visitors centre for a 45 min stop.
Leaving Gleentrool we will join th A714 following it though Newton Stuart towards Wigton where we will then join the A747,A747 through Whithorn to our lunch stop at the Pirsac The View in Port William lunch stop will be around an hour or so.
Leaving Port William we follow the A747 to the A75 then head to the A751 Stranraer bypass we will go on that to join the A77 to Ballantrae which will be the afternoon stop ( convenience stop only) then we will follow the a77 and A719 coast road through Turnberry and Dunure back to Ayr the past Robert Burns cottage and back to the hotel.

If the weather on the Mints Peaks run last year is anything to go by, you are barking up the wrong tree Niall as it pi**ed it down most of the day. However, I'll see what I can do;).

Indeed, we'll just have drive faster if it rains, wont get wet then :whistle: ;) Look forward to meeting up, it's been a while.
