Good to have some other youngsters will be along.
My eldest just turned 7 and wil be along for this run and Santa Pod.
He did London to Brigton with me a few months back and that was a good 12 hours from time we left till we got home. Was a long day with plenty of breaks and amazing cars to see but the Brigton pier was his highlight.
We'll be coming up from Canterbury for this one so a long day, he'll be tired for Monday but wil be keen to get to class to tell his mates all about it!
For the Santa pod we'll overnight the night before. He's very exited to stay in a 'hotel' but he's thinking along the lines of a 5 star like he sees in the movies....I think the Ibis might not meet his expectations of a proper hotel with valet parking etc!
It's a great bonding experience, highly recommend.
Be prepared with iPad/games console and chargers if he likes that for the boring bits/traffic jams. I have a 10,000mha Anker battery pack that keeps the tablet charged nicely so you can still use your lighter for your phone etc. Although I have seen a new double USB lighter socket that pumps out 2.4amp on both slots (most double chargers have low output on one of the slots so too slow for iPad and iPhone at once).
A comfy high back booster so he can see out properly and nap comfortably is a good idea.
Of course some kids can sit longer than others but you will know, our youngest probably wouldn't last the day in car as small as the Z, he needs to be doing something rather than sit!
