Having two runs on the same weekend will either make it a very long weekend for some, or will mean two smaller events. Having a run on Saturdays generally means heavier traffic as well.

Just incase you slip back Paul, Aug 23rd is notts/derby's cruise. Just in case people are wanting to do both.
Cheers
Dave

You've also got the cost for some as well. Two events in a weekend with fuel and meals etc can add up rather.

@pgunter I appreciate it must be difficult to arrange, I'm afraid you will never please everyone unfortunately. I'm one of those that will put the Z away for the winter months and intend to SORN at the end of Sept, even though I know last years weather was great right up to Nov, it would be nice to do last run out before putting her to bed.
I will be happy to go with the flow and just watch the dates being suggested, it looks a nice run/route and would think a Sunday would be more idyllic. I agree with @Grumpy two events in a weekend would be very costly.
Sorry I cant be more helpful!

I will keep the date wide open and see what the consensus is in a few weeks. It might be that some people might like to stay south rather than run north to Santa Pod, but I would prefer not to have a split in the group. I may even add a list of what is going on and we can see. Maybe @GazHyde might be able to add a calendar function so people can see what is happening week by week. Would stop clashes of dates gary :)

I have been looking at the dates that might still be free. For peoples thoughts.

23rd August 2015. This is possible but is also the Notts Derby Cruise.
30th August 2015. This is a non starter as its Bank Holiday Weekend.
6th September 2015. This might be possible but we might run into the build up for the Goodwood Revival.
13th September 2015. This is a non starter as its Goodwood Revival and the downs will be busy.
20th September 2015. This is a very good date as its late enough for people to enjoy the downs but not too late for those who are putting the Zeds to bed for the Winter.
27th September 2015. This is Santa Pod.. So a non starter.

So can I please have a consensus for 20th September ? and a second reserve date of 23rd August ?

I will then have to discuss with other relevant places I am sorting for the run out.

@Mint Its a shame, but trying to fit everything in with all the other events going on is getting very hard.. As it is, I had news today that my original surprise to get us on the Goodwood Hill Climb has been turned down by the man at the top.. due to arrangements with another German Car Company we would not be allowed..

I am therefore trying to rework parts of the route and looking at a lunch break at the Goodwood Racing Circuit. I am still awaiting confirmation that the Goodwood Road and Racing Club will allow us all to park. Life is never easy sometimes when you want to do something good. I will win some how..

Will you be at Santa Pod ?

@pgunter Bad luck about the Goodwood Hill Climb:( - will have to wait until the contract runs out with the other German Company.
No, we won't be at Santa Pod as we have a reunion on that weekend and we'll be in France for the 23rd August.
Best of luck with your arrangements - see you on another meet I'm sure.;)

20th September seems to be the date then Ladies and Gentlemen.

I would also like to confirm that after visiting Goodwood today, I will be avoiding the circuit for the dates as they are not really happy with a third person organising a visit. Seems they like to charge a large amount for anything related to motorsports and car clubs. Pity.

So I have been having a nice drive around the south downs and have come up with another great route.

Setting off from BMW UK HQ. ( Still awaiting final confirmation, but very good feedback so far. Even to the point of they are willing to try and find a venue close by if the building work at Fleet is still an issue. ) Then over to go through the Hindhead Tunnel, then down to Petersfield Services, for the quick rest room break. Then along the downs to Midhurst for lunch in the town or at the farm shop cafe as plenty to choose from. Then we can head out further along the downs to the north of Brighton and the Devils Dyke which has a cafe / PH for the final location.

If you think this is ok, please let me know asap so I can sort out the numbers and see what needs to be sorted car parking wise.

Below is a few photos from todays little drive out.
