It's the same ball ache as trying to convert to a club. Needs people to get involved and take on roles as chairman, secretary, treasurer and so on.

Then needs statements put in place such as structure, constitution and so on.

Finally it then becomes something run by committee, which then introduces politics and the fighting starts...

Ok, that's a little dramatic but if you have ever seen how a certain official car club has been run over the years you will see why I keep things the way they are.

Please do Gary. We do all appreciate your efforts even though we don't say it much. Without you there would be a lot less friendships in the world, especially the Zed world. Thank You;)

We had exactly the same problems with our local fishing club Gaz, for which I was treasurer. Every Easter Sunday was AGM and no one wanted to take any work from the 3 man committee and so we were re-elected en bloc every year, but that didn't stop some from thinking they could do better. Also we were a non profit group and always aimed to not carry any money forwards into the new year which is harder to do than many might think.
For all you may think, I and every one else I'm sure, appreciate all you do to keep this thing together, even if sometimes you're pulling your hair out. Please keep doing it.

Tony.

Spot on there. Am sure it wouldn't be the case here (in fact I'm sure there would be hundreds of volunteers - back me up folks!), but, getting a working committee is painful. Everyone loves to be involved until it comes to actually doing some organising. Everyone scatters into the dark corners when there's work to be done.

I can agree up to a point Ian, with our club, we were all in the same place or local area throughout the summer fishing season. The problem here is that we are all spread out all over the country where it's not so easy to be helpful at long distance?

i just had a run-in with paypal, for 6 years now i have moved money out of paypal (usually ebay sales) into a barclays savings account then draw out in cash, i also pay my monthly selling fees from my paypal balance, now because it was Christmas and i spent a shed load there was nothing in my paypal account to pay for an item i have purchased so i think ok simple i will put cash into my account attached to paypal then simply pay with paypal and they will move the funds over. Wrong, as it is a savings account its not allowed on paypal to fund my ebay seller fees (or any other payments), they didn't know this account was a savings account untill this morning when i tried to send money from paypal. they now say i need to attach my current account to my paypal account in order to continue listing on ebay as they have removed paypal as i automatic payment method as i have no funding source for paypal to go into. Now in hind sight this is fairy obvious, but they haven't noticed for over 6 years. I now have to explain this to antrim72 who i should have sent this payment too, it will now take another 3 days to confirm my current account with paypal, think i will just send a bank cheque instead.

Yep it can be a pain, for those type of issues, but for instant money moving is there anything better? No one would/can give such a service for free I don't think, although I don't like their charges for selling such things as cars.

i once got a pay-out from paypal for over £700, this was repayment for all the times they charged me for faster withdraws over the years, apparently it was illegal:) so they had to refund everybody who had used this feature.

Technology nowadays can be used to organise things. Getting it to work when you need it though is often the problem.
Reminds me - I have a meeting to set up!

Thank you for all your efforts Gary.

P.S. Now you are "legit", I have a few dirty £10 notes; any chance you could launder them for me!!
