Example. Me and kim have just refurbed our front room (knocked 2 into 1) and need a door for the stairs. We started the project last April and now just have finishing touches to do. She looked at doors for the stairs since last year, i just asked her opinion of one i found this morning and her answer was. You can not expect me to make a decision that quick
She might pick one before i retire
There is a way round that billz, you go out and buy the one you want and when you get it home, you tell her that you had no choice as the door frame is not standard size, ie, so many mm this and so many cm that and the hinges have to be 1000% tensile and adhere to ISO (what ever number you want) and the internal structure of the door is polyfiberisedcarbonbasedoak and so on.
Their eyes soon glaze over and they go and do the washing up.......simple.
While they are doing the washing up, you tell them that the 1000% tensile screws were not supplied with the polyfiberisedcarbonbasedoak door and you have to go out and get some.
Off down the pub we go.........
PS...When you get back, tell her you have been all over town looking for them and that you had to place an order and that they will be available in six weeks time.
