An apprentice where I work once did that on a car. He had removed both wipers and left the arms "up", went and asked for some new ones, when he came back he lifted the bonnet to continue doing some other work and .. BANG.

It wasn't my proudest moment considering I've been driving for nearly 30 years and changed I don't know how many. On the bright side I ended up with a very clear new windscreen

Oh the shame :arghh: my old car seats sold on eBay so a packing box was purchased to send them off to the new recipient. All boxed up when the C-in-C says 'Oi, Victor prat the stupid t**t, I challenge you to get that box out of the bedroom door'. After much contemplation, and the odd 'f***, t**t, box unpacked and redone in the garage! :banghead:

On the upside I took a break from sorting the Zed (New spare wheel) for a chat when the C-in-C said 'won't that drag along the ground when you're driving along'? Probably if I left the carrier hanging down =))

The day is still young ;)

Just got to love them have you not?
Few years back we had a load of snow like the UK now and the snowplow had been down the road and buried her Smart car.
After I dug it out I asked her to get in and I would push her onto the clear road.
Could not move the bloody thing ....

She still had the hand brake on ....

30 odd years ago, just before we got married, I was off work, bored and wanted something to do so I dismantled my Triumph Bonneville in the garage and decided I'd freshen it up. I took all the bits into the house and into the spare bedroom to clean and paint. Once I'd done that, I got bored again and rebuilt the bike in the bedroom.

Being the prize pratt that I am I was certain I could get a Triumph Bonneville down our stairs and through the front door.

Anyway, needless to say it didn't go to plan. I got it down the first 6 steps but couldn't negotiate the 90 degree bend in the staircase. I tried to get it back up the stairs and got it stuck. The clutch lever was embedded in the plaster on one side and the exhaust scraped all the paint and paper off the other side.

I ended up stripping the bike where it stood, halfway down the staircase.

I haven't tried to rebuild a bike in the house since =))

We'd just moved into our current house, an old Cornish stone and cob cottage and decided we needed to buy some new wardrobes. Jill wasn't very well so off I went on a mission, I mean, how hard can it be to buy a couple of wardrobes ?

I trudged around the furniture shops of Truro and ended up at a pine furniture warehouse. A pair of nice wardrobes took my eye so I paid a deposit and arranged delivery.

On the day they arrived I was at work and Jill called me, and she was not happy.

"They don't fit in the bedroom, they're too big" she said,

"Don't be silly, they're just a couple of wardrobes" I replied,

"They don't fit, they're f*****g huge" she screamed

"I didn't measure them but I didn't realise they were too big" I replied

"You didn't realise they might be too big????? didn't the words giant f*****g wardrobes give it away ?"

Anyway, ended up having to get them altered, but we're still married after all my f**k ups =))=))

You'll be telling us next she didn't manage to fill them within days. (saunters off into distance whistling casually) :)
