To be fair, where I go with it the only problem I have is leaving work where the road and our yard slope down to meet at the gutter. This catches my rubber splitter and folds it under itself and scrapes it on the tarmac until I get level again.:thumbsup:I said many a time while we were in Florida my car would be toast here and I suspect even ones on standard suspension would have issues with the sloping entrances etc. that they have.

Tony.

ps. Pink was added by the fairies;)=))

Three of the cars have to be driven on to the drive at an angle to stop the front from grounding - one of those is Jonathan's KA!
Couldn't think about lowering mine because slope and curve on the pavement :nailbiting:

Nearly there on the choice of colour. I spoke to a company in Grimsby who was very competitive including having the rims "diamond cut" to enhance them. I like the idea but never having had this on my wheels can anyone throw some light on how easy/hard it is to care for this on wheels please ?

If you diamond cut I wouldn’t lacquer them, leave them bare but polish and protect it with a sealant instead (the laquer will chip and then corrosion spreads under the laquer )

It’s a durable finish and any scufff can be easily dealt with by sanding/polish as it bare aluminium- just needs sealing and I wouldn’t use in winter (I wouldn’t use any split rim in winter ideally).
This is what the finish was like on the lips of my old wheels:

I loved the machine lines it leaves as opposed to flat polished.

Hey thanks Dino, I think you meant you wouldn't liqueur them and wouldn't use split rims in the winter?
That was my mistake last year to be honest, I had intended putting the original wheels back on but never got round to it. I certainly will next year without fail. When the runflats are done for on the Turbine style wheels I aim to put winter tyres on them.

Could be fun to be had there Sean:). I spoke to a guy called Chris at CJ Powder Coatings. He gave me a good price including the Diamond cutting. Another application for the sealer you kindly gave me I reckon.
On another note, I bought a headlight renovation kit in Florida and I'm thinking a coat of that sealer would be a good idea to protect the lenses when done?

Yes ‘wouldn’t’ laquer them, just bare. As the lip on yours looks easy to get to with a drill polishing should be very easy - the meguirs powercone attachment will be easy to use on the lip and you can go for however much shine you like.

And no winter for sure although I believe with the right sealant like GTechniq it’s possible.
