Tank vent valve and a fuel cap replacement gasket after I had a code and EML popup on the Z4. Also ordered a oil filter housing gasket after noticing wetness down the side of the engine, not much at the moment but will be going in to change it soon.

Not easy... both Barry and I have done it twice on 2 different cars each... 1st time because you can and want to, 2nd time cos you know you can and want to get the new car looking perfect having learnt your mistakes from the 1st time. Both of us have said we would seriously have to consider if we wanted to do it a 3rd time... This is the situation I find myself in at the moment having sold the 1st car, and then crashed the 2nd one, I am now onto my 3rd car (2nd M) and I always hate that they didnt put the extended leather trimmed dash in as standard...

To get round this I have bought a proper OEM extended stitched leather dash that is in red and currently in the loft - the plan this summer may be to redye that one and then fit it to the car. I managed to salvage some of the other parts from my old M which I might also fit. (a decision which is marmite to some members but this way I will atleast always retain the original parts if I ever want to go back to OEM.)

With respect of the items from this seller, as I say, the cut of the templates is very snug and therefore gives you very little extra material to wrap over a glue meaning that the leather will shrink in sunlight and expose the plastic underneath on the dial dome etc.

For a write up of what I did click on the blue links below and youll see the retrimming story and photos of the whole process.
Are you able to tell me, are the extended leather components on a Z3 roadster (e.g. the airbag cover, instrument cluster cover, etc) the same as non-extended leather (putting aside the leather itself) components? For example, if I have a Z3 with extended leather and need to replace the airbag cover, is it as simple as getting any airbag cover and getting it leather trimmed? Or are they different sizes to accommodate the leather seams/stitching between panels?

Extended Leather includes the Hockey Sticks up the sides of the front console, the middle console itself, the dash and the dial dome. The dashes and components are all the same themselves - factory ones are obviously fitted professionally and I suspect the leather to be thinned out where required but despite being professionally done the leather around the back of the dash and the dome usually shrinks over time and peels back.

For DIY, there is a requirement on some pieces to just sand them back a little bit to allow for the addional thickness of the leather that you are adding - this is even though you have stripped the vinyl off the panels initially. If you look at the 2 blue links in my signature you'll see what I mean.

Battery Bosch 96 S5008. Battery Megastore for £85.36. They sent wrong one (Hankook lawn mower lol) initially so next day had swap over and asked for discount due to inconvenience and have got 10% off..result
Good online shop that.. bought the Bosch for my Zed from them and last month ordered one for my Merc....they rang within minutes of ordering to say they were out of stock of sent me a much more expensive battery instead. They always have 5% off voucher codes running too if you google for them.

I always check for discount codes and none of them worked :( but was still cheapest out there and with free delivery. The 10% refund was a nice bonus. My recent cashback from Top cashback and Quidco paid for my battery :)

Not all this week, but over the last couple of weeks I have put a new third brake light cover and seal on, replaced a stuck side mirror internal and today changed the plugs, oil and filter and air filter on the green machine.
