so this triangular thing has to be fully sealed?
strangely enough mine was missing both of them and thought it was supposed to be like that for draining or something… well, well, I always learn.
Now I'm feeling bad for hijacking the 'What have you bought thread'
There is an internal channel behind the triangle piece that allows water to run off the front seal and down the A-pillars. Block this up and you're in trouble. But, if the triangle piece is open (or not there) from this channel to the hood closing interface then water can find its way from the channel, past the interface and into the cabin. This was my issue and the fix was to re-attach the triangle piece to the seal while not blocking the channel.

Back on topic...

I bought these ramps to tackle corroded components on the underside, tank straps, exhaust, spare tyre carrier and the like.
Gets the car up nice and high and allows good access for working on the underside.

Good kit, I have a set but no good for my Z3 as it's to low, good for the rest of the fleet though.

Fuel pump packed up on the ///M, BMW wanted a princely sum for a replacement. So some research later…..

Required some modification of the wiring. I just snipped off the connector and used some of those solder seal wire connectors as I did not have any of the blue and red style female crimp connectors. Works like a charm at tick over at least.

My car must think it’s Birthday and Christmas have come at once..Freshly ‘bushed’ at ZedShed HQ and now new tyres all round. I went for Avon ZV7s (not the extra load ones) as these are such a great match for a Z3. They replaced the Michelin Pilot 3s that were on it, which although had tons of tread left were 11 years old 😱 and tramlined terribly. Set of 4 Avon’s was cheapest at Halfrauds at £360 all in. Ready for summer now 😎

never heard of them, must be winter tyres, otherwise we would have them available over here. great price for staggered 17s (that I presume your rims are).

Yeah they don’t make them for MX5s 🤣
Avon have been making tyres for over 100 years. They were still made in the UK until this year. They are midrange (Falken quality) but are brilliant at reducing tramlineing. Probably won’t do the miles a Michelin would before needing replacing. They are staggered 225 and 245 17”

Absolutely agree about the Avons. Brilliant

Just checked them localy price for a staggered set 225/245X17 is same as the Continentals... must be a heavy tax on them if they are imported from the UK (because not europe anymore).
Thats why they are not common I guess...

What did I buy for my Z this week? I bought these "Woolies", some wheel cleaner and a can of K2 Red paint.

These can be bent to many shapes for cleaning behind spokes.

Also an ABS Sensor. While removing the original, the bolt sheared. I ended up having to drill it out and use helicoil, hence the strip down
