I suspect I know someone who might have an affinity with this vehicle that's up for sale on eBay.

I do like a good fire engine @Redline I do
My two favourites,

Thornycroft Nubian Major MK9 (surrounded by the law, most uncomfortable)

And the Haaglunds BV206, proper mountain goat at the Falkland Islands Air Base,

They won't let me drive them anymore :arghh:

Most of the fire engines I knew were always called Simon or Dennis. When I was a little kid I lived about 100yds from Brierley Hill Fire Station which was opposite Round Oak Steel Works.

As kids me and my brother would often sit outside the fire station and draw pictures of the fire engines

In later life the company I worked for supplied spares for Simon and Reynolds Boughton vehicles

Knew you'd find it.

Why is it the RAF has all the best toys?
When we're "checking in" as apposed to "digging in" we need a decent mode of transport to get to the hotel

Standing bye :wideyed:

I've heard the RAF sorts very allergic to digging in. Nothing but the best!

My mother-in-law used to work in Brierley Hill Police Station years ago.

I worked on the basis that if the enemy had survived the airborne carpet bombing, SF incursions, artillery shelling, infantry and airfield defence batterings, we've lost so I'd happily tell them the water contents of my fire engine to save being tortured ........ from my air conditioned room.;)

Looks like there used to be and maybe still is a Thornycroft Nubian Major MK9 at Bruntingthorpe which is just spitting distance from us.

Might be yours!
Ex RAF Wittering if the decal is as described. Used to be Mint as they used to respond to RTA's on the A1 back in the day. Very bad stretch of road. Could do with a 'T'-Cut and polish.:(

We lived at 116 John Street, now long demolished and moved out in 1966

Ask your MIL if she knows Paddy Mulligan and Jock Boden
