Sounds like a cookies problem. Am wondering if the new IOS works differently if you close your iPad. If you restart your iPad (do a soft or hard restart rather than just close it) I'd expect you to have to log in again.It's a pain because I used to look at my emails from this site press them and hey presto I'd be on this site but now I have to look at my emails I can still press them and get on to the site but I can't answer any threads until I go and log myself in again
There's a reported issue that if your clear the history that it also clears cookies unexpectedly. Are you doing that?

I didn't think of doing that
I'm close my iPad down completely and see what happens ( I'll just have a look to see if it's anyone's birthday first )
And yes I alway clear my history when I've finished with my iPad
