After carefully weighing our options, we are leaning towards selling. Sadly, because of career demands and future plans we simply do not have the time or dedication necessary to devote to restoring to mint condition.
Sometimes admitting that you don't have the time or energy to give a project what it deserves is the best decision!

Would be nice if you could let us know how it all works out for you.

But it's silver isn't it? Polling potential customers here that seems to be the opposite to UK where silver is tops, here it's near bottom. List going backwards: green, red, black, yellow, white, silver, purple and any other choices. Mind you, a well set out Z3 in any colour can be sold and your's would be a simple sell. Have to shake Trinity's piggy bank though as it's costing another £1500 to transport from Nova Scotia - home. Should finally be here by the 23rd. Then I should know if this endevour has been worth the effort. The Z1 would definitely look good beside my 58 MB 190sl though.

I think the Z1 is a good investment, my Z3 would just make you cry, that you had made a mistake with your original purchase, and that Silver is the tops in Canada also.......

Yes, you're probably right but given that I paid less than half your price and was working within a budget to get a car for my granddaughter that I can work on till she's old enough to drive, what I got works for the situation. I'll know better in the next few weeks when it actually lands on my driveway but judging by the 153 pics the detailer sent me I'm pretty pleased. Had your car been for sale at the time I certainly would have been seriously looking at it, especially knowing what I now know. There is a friend interested in my car so maybe this isn't over yet. Good luck, someone's getting a beaut even if it's silver. JIM

To be honest Jim the ownership of The Z3 for me has been the tinkering and modding, I have enjoyed every greasy nut and bolt of it, and I expect, no know, that is what you and your grand daughter will get out if it, so I think you have bought wise. Enjoy it!

Big vote for that one... I likey very much!

Pics please!!!!

:)
It is still in pieces unfortunetly. I've had some health issues the past 2 yrs that have put everything project wise on hold. But, I'm on drugs and feeling much better now and can get back to the Benz, my 40 Indian scout, and several others. I've been accumulating parts for a long time for all and it's time to finish some and part with others. I'll try to get some pics posted in case anyone wants an American or Canadian project. JIM

I for one would still like to see the bits! I love resto pics and projects. They inspire. All the hours and love that goes into a proper resto are so worth it when you see the finished article. Please put some on.

I'm a proper "Lush" when it comes to anything cars. I could never own enough and a Merc 190SL would be near the top of my wish list.

I saw one come the other way with rally numbers and stickered up along the A1 heading south a couple of weeks back. It made a wonderful noise and I got quite excited about it. YUMMY!!!!

:)

Easy Tiger. Did you see on BBC 2 after the Grand Prix today Patrick Stewart retracing the Mille Miglia with Sir Stirling Moss in a Silver Arrow. I hope I spelled that correctly. If not it might be worth looking on the I-player.;)

Give me a chance to cut the grass out back. I could use some of Miller1098's equipment after about 3 weeks of storms or you won't see much of anything. JIM
