Hey everybody! My name is Stacy and my Z3 was my present for my 50th birthday 8 years ago. It has been the best joy ride ever! Anytime I was down I would say I just need some joy. Well that meant I'm getting in my beamer and taking a drive. There were times I just wanted to keep on driving like Forrest Gump wanted to keep on running and then running and running.

I've got a 1997 convertible Z3 roadster. I've got to say goodbye to my fun joyride. I really don't want to I kind of have to. I'm just not able to keep up on it anymore.

This motor is clean as a whistle and when I got the heads done I should have done the valves and I didn't. So now the motor has passed. Although it's squeaky clean all the way to the deep deep inside of the motor it still needs a valve job. Personally if I really had it in me, my son who races cars - could pick up a motor for me for about 600 bucks. I really should do it, but like I said, I think it's time for A new motor and a new owner. And this motor believe it or not was so cleaned out and put back together so well that it didn't even leak oil. Can you believe it A BMW roadster didn't leak oil. I guess BMWs have that reputation of leaking oil. Not this one!

Here's my situation I've been need of a small to medium size pickup truck. Toyota or Honda preferred of course but not being too picky at the moment. Is there anybody out there that would like to trade my BMW for a truck? I could really use it. Someone in my family was driving my truck a couple weeks ago was in a wreck and of course with just state requirements on the insurance policy it won't be getting fixed. It had to go to the wrecking yard. I just put $1,000 into that motor and I wanted to drive it till the wheels fell off. Oh well we can't win them all.
Everything works in my Z3 and the sound system is pretty cool and loud of course.
It has $175,000 mi on it. And it purrs. The top is shiny black it's been dyed and looks fabulous no tears or holes. It has new tires. The air condition works. And of course the heater works when we're desperate to have the top down and it's freezing outside and yet we still want the top down and the heat on because we don't want to put the top up yet we never want to put the top up. We never want to put the top up only when we have to. Living in Oregon it was only a seasonal color for me and I never drove it in the rain and it's been garaged and cared for very much. I had the heads redone a year ago and like I said I should have did the valves and I didn't and I think that's what gave out on the motor so now she just sits. Someone who loves the Z3 would love this car. If there's anyone interested out there that would like to trade I would be so grateful. Thank you beamer peeps!

Thank you EXMX! It's all good it's part of Life. My son Eli has been racing and drifting BMWs since he was probably 8 years old. When he was 3 years old I looked out my living room window and I saw him in the neighbor's yard. I thought what is he doing. He was dragging over a piece of particle board and a few loose bricks from around their rose bushes. He was building a ramp with the neighbors belongings from their yard hahaha I couldn't believe it. I went outside to talk to him about what he was doing by the time I got there he was on his two wheeler with training wheels getting ready to go full speed ahead up that ramp. Just like Eva Knievel there he went flying over the top of this ramp made flying about 2 3 ft out in the air and landing sideways like a pro. I looked at my mother and she looked at me and said oh s*** this is going to be expensive. We went inside and watched him through the window it was amazing. He comes inside and says Mom I think I'm ready for for that electric car I want that electric car and I said you do would you like your car is that? And he says that BMW! So my mom is right it was expensive by the time he was 13 years old he was building his own BMW go-karts. And you don't dare go to the races and let him see a real BMW go-kart. Well all this is going on we go back and forth to the beach a lot. And this road to the beach their side of house on the left hand side and in the driveway was a BMW four-door. And every time on the way there and now on the way back he'd say but there's my car Mom one of these days I'm going to own that car I said yep maybe. We're approaching age 16 and he gets his driver's license and so now he's driving us to the beach in my car, which was at Canary yellow 1997 Porsche 914 convertible two-piece hardtop. He got a job starting at age 13 and had some money saved up quite a bit actually. And we're coming up on that house that's got that BMW in the driveway on the way to the beach. I said why don't you pull over and ask that old man if he wants to sell his BMW. He says Mom it's not for sale. I said everything's for sale for the right price. I said go and ask him anyway because the worst you can say is no. And then I told him but what if he says yes? You can tell he wanted to go up there and ask for that car but he was nervous this is the first time he's ever done something like this. I'm bold Aunt tenacious I know how to ask for what I want. So I know he's thinking yeah maybe I will go up there and ask. You can tell he's in deep thought. We're approaching the house and I said pull over and we're arguing because he doesn't want to pull over he doesn't want to have to ask for this car He's nervous but he does. So I told him take this pen and paper and you go up there and you ask him sir you don't happen to want to sell your BMW do you? I said you said just like that and you let him answer and no matter what he answers, but if he says no you met him that piece of paper with your name and phone number on it and you tell him if you change your mind please call me I've had my eye on this car for years as I'm going back and forth to the beach with my mom. And you leave it at that. And that's exactly what he does he handsome that piece of paper with his phone number on it and the next day (this is where I start crying every time I tell somebody this story) and the next day his cell phone rings and it's that man with the BMW. He says hi I believe it's your son that that came by yesterday or so and asked to buy my BMW it is he available to talk to? I said sure is I said you must have changed your mind he says he had I did I want to give the BMW and I just cried. I said let me go get them so Eli gets on the phone he says hey young man how you doing? Eli says fine thank you. He said son you still want that BMW? He says yeah he goes come and get it it's yours. And that was my son's first taste of a BMW in 6 months later he was racing that very same BMW at Pat's acres in Canby Oregon. And he got his first trophy. He's 29 years old now and he's probably had half a dozen BMWs and drifted every one of them it's been it's been The great experience watching him build race crash every one of them. Some great memories and a lot of fun. Just thought I'd share that story with you all a special place in my heart all these BMW moments.
